2025 Gen2 R1T Tri
I will be taking a trip Friday during extreme cold in the Chicago area. I'll be coming from central IL to the north suburbs. Playing with the nav, it shows me getting there without a charge, but I'd basically be on electron fumes when I get there, and it seems that the nav...
I didn't really give any details, so...
Truck is exactly 1 year old, and I've done many L3 charges. Yesterday, we tried two different EVgo locations, and multiple charges at each, with the same problem, and the Rivian location was open - got the same failure. We hadn't planned to be staying...
Gen 2 R1T
On our way home yesterday, we stopped at an EVgo to charge up. After plugging in, and getting the payment confirmed, I got "Exchanging charging parameters with vehicle" (or something like that) and then, after a while, "Unoplug and try again". Multiple tries failed, on multiple...
FYI, rebooting my router solved my connection issue, and as soon as it connected to Wifi (2.4 in my case), the download immediately started. Update successfully installed now!
I'm having problems getting the latest software update downloaded, so I'm trying to connect to my home internet for the first time. Previously, I've relied on the connect+ cell connection, but for some reason, Rivian thinks it's too slow this time. Per a suggestion, I shut off WiFi yesterday...
I don't have access to a hot spot right now, so I went ahead and disabled WiFi. Can I assume that it checks each night to see if it can download, until it succeeds?
On a positive note, I'm now getting two bars in my driveway rather than one, which is hopefully sufficient for the download.
(2025 R1T Tri, picked up in November)
I received my RivianRoamer note that I was ready for the new software update on July 16th (RivianRoamer ROCKS, BTW), and I waited for it to be downloaded. I believe that it may have started to download, but the connection was so poor, it stopped, and it has...
Just to show my complete ignorance wrt all things charging/battery related, when I first noticed this issue (R1T Tri picked up late November), I just figured it was something as simple as "Oh, somebody at Rivian took the DCFC code to slow things down at/after 80%, and accidentally stuck that...
My concern with too many Launch Mode repetitions is not so much about the battery, but rather the drive train/connections/whatever... I.e., the physical points where all that force is being transferred (pardon my lack of the correct terms - half shafts?). I was just thinking (having...
I've done Launch Mode twice now on my new Tri (picked up week before Thanksgiving), and all I can say is "Jesus!". It really is impressive (to me at least).
However, I'm reluctant To do it too many more times, as I just can't believe it's in any way good for the truck!
Thoughts on Launch...
I have an R1T Tri that I picked up the week before Thanksgiving. About a week after getting it, I went out to drive and the front two TPMS sensors were off. They came back on the next day, but then the FCW and LDW lights were on. Those also went away that day, and since then (over a week), I...
(I posted this as a response to a reddit thread, but I can't originate a post there because I don't have "karma").
One month into my R1T Tri ownership, with hardwired ChargePoint Homeflex charger on 60A breaker, I have always (about 6 times now), gotten between 11.1 - 11.4 kW charging speed up...
Stupid question, but the truck should be fine for driving, correct? I.e., there are no weird, non-obvious dependencies between the tpms and some other system(s).
Coming home today from running errands, I got a "TPMS failure. Service immediately." (or something like that) message on the drivers display, and when I switched to the tpms view on the diver display, the two front sensors were out (rear both working, at 46). I let it sleep several hours and...
