I think you are right that it is not "innovative" in the sense that it is essentially bringing light trucks back, however innovation is only one category and I think it performs well in some of the others.
"Good for work or truck things" is highly dependent on someones use case and it does all...
It's unfortunate that there is only one truck category as they are all clearly on different levels.
I think the R1T should get it, but wouldn't be surprised in the Maverick as they did a fantastic job on that and it really hits a much larger group of potential purchasers.
Edit: How do juror's...
At this point and for the next few years the R1S is the biggest 7 row option available. THAT is the benefit for my family.
It may only be a few inches, but those few inches mean everything.
Until a full size suv or minivan becomes available that can comfortably seat 7 (still TBD on the R1S)...
I'm not sure what to think.
On one hand it looks kind of cool and on the other all I can think of is those stupid hamsters from the Soul commercials and I want to puke.
In the end "concept" to me means it won't look at all like this.
As an R1S pre-order holder there is not enough information yet.
I would/will have no problem buying site unseen ONLY AFTER there are enough reviews and information in regards to utilizing the 3rd row with car seats in the second.
Assuming those hold up to my needs then I'm in.
While I would...
Guaranteed it’s much higher that haven’t seen in regards to forum members as a whole.
You are getting a response from ACTIVE members so these numbers are not all that surprising to me.
Based on what I am seeing here and how the renders show the suitcases behind the 3rd row, I would say they sacrificed 3rd row leg room for more cargo space which is disappointing to say the least.
#'s and renders only do so much and I need to sit in it, but a quick video of 3rd row access...
We ship to Canada quite a bit, but we shoulder all of the duties/taxes up front for the shipment quote. There is no (legal) way around this going direct to consumer that I am aware of. The customer never sees the charges the way we do it, but they are there. If we wouldn't take that on, then the...
I'd say based on the vehicles you have listed on your profile that I'm not too surprised that you weren't completely blown away ;)
Someone who has never driven an EV will be blown away in the same way someone going from an HDD to SSD will be blown away. In this case you already have an "SSD" so...
The real question is who will have the first 7 seater that is truly usable as a family hauler with car seats involved?
If the EV9 is the same length as the Telluride (197") I fear it won't be any better than the R1S in that respect.
Somebody come and take my money!!!
I'm not sure they would do the Max pack if it only gives an additional 36mi. That would seem pointless IMO
My question is when will we have ANY information on the max pack, let alone a delivery timeframe? I'm not optimistic that we will hear anything until a few months after R1S customer...
I had posted this a long while back and have not updated it much but it has a good number of ICE vehicles that are in the same class
https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/r1s-vs-similar-ice-class-vehicles-ex-yukon.315/
Here is a post referencing some of these vehicles and the R1S when it...
I haven't looked at this thread for probably only t
Great photo.
I'm wondering if it "seems" better being that the latches are "flush" with the sides of the compartment going forward vs the R1S still allows that space to be used rather than finishing it flush?
I can understand how that could...
I felt all of your points were completely valid and they echo much of my own inner monologue.
80k is a huge purchase for me while for others it is a drop in the bucket.
This means that I/we are more likely to truly weigh out the pros/cons and not brush anything off in the decision.
That may...
I hear you. Most of our daily miles are on the leaf but we fill up our Navigator probably once every two weeks. That's not too bad compared to others, but still can't wait to be full BEV.
Would probably need to be the Navigator version for me, but yea that would be fairly close to the R1S. However personally I will never buy a hybrid vehicle.
Are you looking at alternatives for the R1S or R1T?
Maybe I missed that somewhere.
R1T you've got the Lightning, Cybertruck and Hummer coming along but unlikely those would be any earlier than a 2023 unless you already have an early reservation.
R1S I would say it depends on what your...
