Yea, ditto on that matte black wrap. The Manhattan Beach shots were taken about 3 blocks from my brother's house, which is next to El Segundo, a West Coast logistics hub for Rivian, and only 12 miles or so from the Newport Beach showroom location when it opens.

Thank you @Administrator for posting this review.
I had thought about starting a thread with this and the recent Cox Automotive survey results about BEV trucks wherein the F-150 gets the nod in comparison with Rivian, the Hummer and the CT, but that's not surprising as the F-150 is instantly...
The new Ionic 5 EV, the Hyundai electric sub-brand, has bi-directional charging. It's featured in the TV ads that are airing. (The new 2022 Tucson plugin hybrid may have it too.) In Northern California where I live, PG&E power failures are common. Having backup power parked in the garage...
Dealbreakers:
For the R1T & R1S, lack of bi-directional charging is a dealbreaker. (Even new Hyundai's offer this!)
For R1T, how 2nd row seat doesn't offer flat platform for pets & pet carriers is a mild dealbreaker.
For R1S, back row seats don't fold flat after flat floors were promised &...
In online renditions of Forest Edge, there are actually two greens shown, a neutral tone, mid-green on door panels and a light, pistachio-like green for the seats. The greens are not the same tone and shade, at least in online renderings.
This creates exterior color matching problems because...
What's the future of dashboard-based integration and connectivity? Mercedes Benz thinks it has the answer with the new EQS option hyperscreen.

Yes, Forest Green looks really different in different lighting conditions and it pairs well with Ocean Crest. We haven't seen live Launch Green yet, but it probably won't offer the tonality of FG and it may not pair well with OC. I'm always considering how outside and inside colors pair or...
Lots of different colors. Started with Launch Green, but that is paired with Forest Edge and Forest Edge has to be seen in real life. I don't like dark interiors. I'll stick with Ocean Crest or, depending on tones and shades, Forest Edge.
So, started with LG, went through white, silver, and...
In the spirit of this thread - Rivian eventually targeting more middle class consumers - yes, it will happen and in three obvious ways.
1. Battery prices fall. The largest single contributor to today's higher costs are batteries, but the good news is that battery prices are falling and fairly...
@skyote, I take a different view. Clearly, the CMO was well coached and rehearsed, and the delivery was well done (post production editing may have been important). So what's with the clothes and lack of jewelry?
Nothing was left to chance. All these folks are coached on what to wear...
That's definitely Forest Edge, not Ocean Crest. You can see the brown wood trim. Definitely Forest Edge though it looks lighter in this overhead light than it does in the configurator.
Yes, @Lmirafuente, @skyote, @fastwheels and others, medium brown wood trim goes well with Black Forest, Ocean Crest and Forest Edge. Simply put, it's the best looking wood trim color regardless of which interior color palette is chosen.
Making medium brown a default choice would not complicate...
Yes, @jjwolf120, that's what was said. "The mass market is NOT what Rivian should be targeting." Not now and not likely in the future. That market Renault/PSA, VW and the Chinese will be targeting.
A goal of selling 2 million, high-end vehicles a year is realistic. It's ambitious yet...
How big does Rivian want to be? The median price for a new car today is almost 38 grand, but that's for mass market models, like Toyotas, F-150s and Rams. That's not the market Rivian wants to target and compete in.
Think Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus instead. I haven't found average price...
A flat floor R1S is seeming increasingly unlikely. At the Mill Valley/SF event a year ago, I was told by two different folks, including Brian Gase, that they were working on a flat floor R1S. A year later and now they're not even saying they're working on a flat floor R1S.
I've been...
Another response received from CS and not reported in #78 above concerned bi-directional charging. It's the second time asked and answered - "please check again in the future".
What We Now Know vs What We Didn't Know: 2 new pieces of information
I received a New Year's response from CS. Two takeaways.
1. Neither the 2nd nor 3rd row seats in the R1S will fold completely flat. Our discussion so far has focused on how much the 3rd row will stick up, not on having both...
