Agreed. I think it's funny that in our neo-nationalistic environment, an American company, employing Americans, in their American factory, can't legally sell their products directly to the Americans that want to buy them.
This is only slightly less hilarious to me than the EQS SUV being touted as an offroader. I guess any car is an offroader if you leave the pavement with it. ?‍♂️
There was a discussion between Kyle and the driver about this in the video - the driver mentioned that he "had pedal left" and was driving it more like a conventional vehicle out of habit.
Hazarding a guess, probably because they're hoping for a bidding frenzy. To your point, I'd sooner list for a fixed price of X rather than leave it to chance, especially when a ceiling seems to have been established.
Agreed, that wasn't my point either. Relative to the broader market, I would wager 10 compass bucks that MY owners shopping an R1T/S are in the minority. Other than being an EV, they have little in common.
No reason to feel bad about trading your MY on an R1T - the R1T is way cooler and more...
I'd take that bet. One of Rivian's big brags is attracting folks who weren't previously considering an EV, myself included. This will be my first EV. There's no other EV available that fits what I like to do and is attractive to me.
If the R1T didn't exist, I'd be buying a Tacoma or...
He must have slept through Philososphy 101 or he would have known that "perfect is the enemy of good". Progress isn't linear and it needs to start somewhere ?‍♂️
At the big end-of-quarter factory delivery event, it seemed like they had trucks to give for those that were willing to bend their configuration to what was available. I don't know if that's still the case, but I'd be shocked if they'd hesitate to slot you in for an easy delivery.
To what end though? Entertaining as it may be, I struggle to see how the flipper market value of an R1T has any immediate relevance to pre-order holders. Unless the intention is to flip the truck, this just increases perceived value so we can brag about how we 'only' paid $80k, but it's worth...
Not any better in the land of livin', lovin', and big buck huntin' that is Pennsylvania. There's a bill proposed to expand the direct sales exception to other EV manufacturers than Telsa, but it currently is dormant.
Based on what I saw at OverlandExpo, this is the one I would buy. Also after speaking with Matt, he’s the kind of guy I’d prefer to give my hard earned money to.

This totally sucks. Damage in-transit is not that unusual, but the delay depends on the extent of the damage and availability of replacement parts.
Getting a new vehicle, especially if title paperwork has been submitted, isn't just a hand-wave. I'm not saying not to pursue that, I'm just...
What's interesting to me is that the predicted time for 2-85% is 37 minutes at the "good" charger and 41 minutes at the "bad" charger....which in the grand scheme is negligible. Is the truck accurate with it's predicted charging times?
Ok, fair. By the same token, wouldn't BMS take more energy to maintain a bigger battery too? Not being argumentative - I'm genuinely asking. What is reasonable to expect, that makes this performance excessive?
I realize efficiency is a priority and I guess this sounds inefficient compared to...
