It's complicated.
If the sticker is under $80K before demo discounts, it qualifies for $3750 tax credit. Most do not - only Launch Editions do.
I think Rivian did apply the $3K ICE SUV trade in offer to a demo what that was available during the spring/summer. I vaguely remember it in my...
You would think a smart carmaker would do that... but we have an example (cough Stellantis) who did not and remained stubborn and blamed external factors. Honestly, if Rivian's sales do not grow rapidly in Q1... they are toast. You can make excuses for Q4 due to supply issues... but at some...
I seriously think Rivian has a sales problem. I posted elsewhere a demo R1S from April 2024 is still for sale today. Shareholders are going to crush this stock when Q4 sales figures are released.
Some of these demos have been sitting unsold for 7-8 months. I declined a demo R1S back on April 2024 and it re-appeared on the site today BUT with a $5K+ price increase lol.
The $71K price was my agreement price back in April - but I wasn't ready for a R1S at the time and decided to let it go...
If Rivian re-introduced the $3K incentive that expired Nov 30th and allowed former Rivian owners access to the $3500 loyalty offer I would pick out an inventory Gen2 R1S immediately.
Are sales so good that Rivian doesn't need incentives? I seriously doubt it.
Only delusional people think this. Back in early 2023 when a bunch of EVs lost their tax credit their values still dropped. Demand is elastic and there are numerous gas/hybrid options out there that will be cheaper and Rivian sales will plummet because lease deals will be terrible.
i wanted a...
The problem is Tesla’s audio is better the 90% of the cars on the market. Just drive base Toyota or VW for mainstream (crap) audio that millions of people own and seem to be happy with even though those systems make my ears bleed.
The real answer is it is complicated.
The worst depreciating vehicle in any class is the Toyota Mirai. It stickers for $60K but you can buy a two year old model for around $15K with no accidents, etc. And technology isn't changing very quickly with HFCV as the cars are fine but the refueling...
Again, it's about pricing and supply and demand. EVs are overpriced by $10-15K in general and EV carmakers have cranked out too many for the real world demand.
New Tundras are depreciating badly but new Sequoias (I had a 23 TRD Pro - it was $84K but really felt like a $60K vehicle.) are not...
Gen1? Most folks here got pre order pricing.
That $105K to $66K depreciation is exactly how badly the Jeep Grand Wagoneer depreciates.
It’s all supply and demand. There are an excess number of overpriced Wranglers, Wagoneers, Tundras, Tacomas, etc on the lot that need $10-20K rebates and...

No, seriously Stellantis is in serious trouble. They’ve had the highest inventory in the industry for almost 2 years now and profits plunged recently while sales of another carmakers are still slightly...
A pre 2020 Wranglers hold value. Same with previous gen Tundras and Tacomas. Current Wranglers do not. In fact, I would not lease or buy a 4xE without a $20-25K discount (including $7500 lease incentive
Most Jeep these depreciate like the Titanic. My 23 Grand Cherokee is worth $25K less than...
$10K off a Rubicon 4xe isn’t much of a discount. That $71K vehicle is probably sub $50K the second you drive off the lot. Jeep discounts are insane these days because they overproduced and overpriced them. And Jeep reliability is worse than Rivians lol.
Sorry but you are completely and utterly wrong and I rarely write that.
Lease buyouts do not force you to pay all of the unearned rent charges (depreciation and interest). The buyout is often the adjusted cap cost minus the rent charges paid.
I test drove a Gen 2 on the weekend and while I could hear the AC whining loudly it was half as loud as my Gen 1 R1S. I have zero rattles, fit or finish issues, etc with my Gen 1 but holy heck was the HVAC loud outside and inside for the first minute in FL.
You are also talking about the T - which has well thought out suspension and yeah extra wheelbase. The Gen1 R1S was a bit of a suspension mess.... for the price point. It rides like my current Bronco with Sasquatch which is not a compliment lol.
