  1. Windshield - Too easy to get chips/ cracks.....Any experience

Two and a half years and no chips, cracks, etc. Google Federal safety standards for passenger vehicle glass. Every manufacturer has to meet those standards, so there really is nothing different about Rivian glass. Chips and cracks just happen.
  2. Power Outage While Charging at Home

Yes, we had a few short power outages during a storm and the truck just restarted charging after each drop out. No issues.
  3. So do we still have to wave at other Rivians on the road or is that no longer a thing?

Two years and three months of waving, and it is not getting old.
  4. PSA (maybe common knowledge): vehicle won't sleep if front seat belts are buckled

Good to post this! In my state, part of the vehicle inspection is working seatbelts and after the inspection I didn’t notice the front passenger seatbelt buckled when I went home to a dark garage! A call to Rivian support suggested checking the seatbelt, and there it was!
  5. R1S AC Noise? Jet engine

Over two years using the air conditioning and it starts out a bit loud but quiets down once the temperature has been reached. Nothing wrong with it, but sound level is a subjective matter.
  6. Driver's seat leg room in R1S?

Two-year owner/driver, 6'6" and no leg room issues. Some people are long in the torso, and some are long in their legs (36' inseam for me too), so you will probably be OK. Give it a test drive! It's great!
  7. Front bumper trim warping?

26 months in and no warping like you have pictured. Sorry to see that!
  8. Abysmal Customer Service.

Sounds like you should cut and run now, and buy another vehicle. You are presupposing your post-sale experience will be bad, so don't set yourself up for additional disappointment. I'm sure you will find the perfect customer experience elsewhere. Let us all know what you pick if you go that way.
  9. My concerns as a potential Rivian Owner

Sounds like it’s not for you based upon the laundry list of perceived issues. Time to stop analyzing and move on.
  10. NACS Adapter - still waiting...

June 2022 delivery here and no adapter yet so I’d say you will be waiting a while longer. As others have said, it’s a Tesla issue and Tesla probably doesn’t care to help out a rival EV manufacturer.
  11. My R1S broke down with less than 1000 miles. Makes me doubt the quality of the vehicle or did I get a turtle :(

Sorry this has happened to you but I would suggest it is an anomaly. Over two years of ownership for me and it has been fine. Keep calling every day, though! Squeaky wheel time!
  12. Rivian delivers defective cars.

Absolutely! Had mine two years now and that is how it sounds.
  13. AC compressor noise and shutdown on and off

Noise is subjective, but I have had my R1T for two years next month and I do hear the AC compressor once in a while. All vehicles make noise and unless you can be side by side with another R1S it is hard to judge if what you are hearing is normal. I chose "normal" for my noise because the AC...
  14. Rivian Service Experience = Not Great

My appointment for tonneau replacement is for three to four hours while I wait at the SC (Chelsea MA). I don't know why they would have your truck for more than half a day. We all need to share our service experiences like this so we can get some uniformity in how things are handled.
  15. $3000 estimate for tonneau cover replacement?

Every other vehicle I have had has always costed the warranty repair in the paperwork, though that was always work done at dealerships who were getting reimbursed by the manufacturer for their effort. Maybe Rivian's accounting practices treat the service centers the same as a dealership work...
  16. Starting Car Noise

sounds like my 2022 R1T. AC noise I think. As others have said, any vehicle makes noise and as long as you do not have any warning lights I wouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy the vehicle..
  17. Subaru buying Rivian?

Once I see a Rivian ad on TV showing dogs driving, I will believe it.
  18. Could Police Cars Be A Rivian Market?

The next town over (Norwood, MA) has a Mustang Mach E as a police car. It used by a school resource officer, so no chasing speeders. Not sure they will spring for a Rivian, but I can see the Mach E replacing some police vehicles.
  19. Am I just whining...

The screen glare can be reduced by installing the TWRaps matte finish screen protectors. I have had mines in since July 2022 and they are great.
