I don't think a tall solution would work on the bed alone, not with the acceleration of this truck, which is positive on increasing speed, negative on a hard brake, and lateral when zipping through turns. Perhaps an integrated solution that attached at all four points could work, but it would...
That's not factory. Someone walking down the street saw a Rivian with running boards and took this picture. I lightened the shadows to show the details more clearly.
I’m pretty sure your point was understood lol. Reminds me of that classic line: “Do you agree with me or do you not understand what I’m saying?”
Those orange sleeves and the heat-shrinking sleeves look super cheap in my opinion. Like they’ll make your bike seem less secure rather than more.
I’d suggest something that looks like a PITA to cut, over something that is cheap and plastic.
The stickers make sense to me.
But how confident are you that batteries are constrained? If they’re not, Rivian makes extra cash selling a max pack. Also they fill a niche for EV’s that will draw more people in: long range adventure vehicle.
Yeah it was a snarky post, sorry about that.
Apple’s been working on VR/AR for ever in tech years. An expensive developer edition will be announced in 1H23 followed by consumer versions in 2024 and 2025. It is already developed and many Apple hardware and software products have been built...
CarPlay will allow your car to work with Apple’s “Reality” glasses for improved HUD and a cockpit-less view where you see no A pillar, dash, or roof, but just the world around you. Plus you’ll have access to their self-driving tech, which they’re working on with sacrificial effort. All debuting...
There’s never enough options, right? Why not, Rivian will develop its own batteries, Rivian will change the size of Max, Rivian will rename large as max and introduce a teeny pack, etc, etc. ;)
I’ve had a Max Pack order from the beginning, but I’m starting to feel bad about the pre-March pricing, given the dramatic cost increases for batteries due to inflation. Now I’m wondering if Max will ever see the light of day.
That’s the one! My 2 cents has to do with acceleration. If people use only the raised racks on the bed (I.e. don’t attach something to anchored roof racks + the raised rack), then you’re looking at a huge torque on the raised rack if you have a large mass up there and you accelerate at 0-60 in 3...
Someone on this forum posted a raised rack set of their own design. I’ll look and see if I can find it.
Here’s one, but not what I recall:
