If you want to drive an iPad that happens to have 4 wheels, then drive a Tesla. Software work great? Slick interface? Sure.
However, you will get a garbage driving experience that you would expect from a vehicle that focuses on a great user interface and software. I drove a both a...
Unless your road trip covers the region around the 9 enabled sites in New York, or the 2 enabled sites in California, you are out of luck with Tesla at this time.
You would have better luck finding a large white sperm whale whale being followed by a boat captained by a dude with a peg leg in...
I have done Denver to Houston numerous times in an EV. The easiest way with the best charging options is to take I-35 north through north Texas, Oklahoma, and then head west once you hit I-70 in central Kansas. Then you take I-70 all the way to Denver. There are Electrify America chargers...
Love my R1T.
Hate Tidal and TuneIn.
Try accessing music streaming in the middle of remote parts of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Arizona. Not going to happen.
I would pay $1,000 to retrofit in a satellite radio antenna into my R1T for SiriusXM access.
Music on your phone. I get it...
I am with you.
I prefer to stop at the Edwards EA for 10 minutes to top off over Glenwood Springs on my way to the western slope - easier to get off and on I-70. I am not a fan of slowing down a ton to extend range when I can stop off for 10 minutes to get what I need to make it to the either...
As much as it pains me to plug the guy, I thought Kyle posted a video of him driving his R1T from the EA charger in Lakewood to his hotel in Grand Junction in one stop. If I recall, he had like 26 miles left on the guess 'o meter. I can't remember what wheels he has on his truck, but I think...
You are preaching to the choir! I hope it happens, but don't see it being set up for a very long time.
On a personal note, I pick up my R1T this Friday and am leaving on Saturday morning down to do the Cumbres and Toltec railroad trip this weekend. I love the Cumbres Pass area since you can...
Exactly.
Start ups do not invest heavily in a state that has two million people in it and ranks 45th in per capita income at $51k per year.
I am a big fan of New Mexico, but the Rivian folks have a business to get off the ground and need to spend money where it makes the most sense...
I really appreciate the team contributing to this threat. It seams that in many cases Rivian under promises and over delivers when it comes to delivery times.
I hope that is the case for me. I have an event in Omaha in the middle of June that I would love to use as my break in road trip...
That is my current status - pending delivery scheduling. I have completed all 8 steps, have had a guide reach out, but have been pending notification for almost a week now.
Honestly, after seeing the ocean coast interior, I am tempted to be put back into the store queue.
There were at least 100 when I picked out my truck about a week ago. Every color, multiple interior colors, multiple wheel sizes - lots of variety to choose from.
I really wanted a white, ocean interior, adventure, with black 22's, but could not find one. I settled on everything I wanted...
Seems like delivery times are all over the board depending on where you live in the country.
Kind of a bummer I could not set up factory delivery, but I am sure Rivian likes to limit that since they would be over run by EV nerds flocking to Normal and overwhelming their local staff.
Wow. Seems like timing worked out for you guys in Virginia. I am hoping that Rivian is giving highly inflated delivery times just to lower expectations.
Kind of a bummer that Rivian does not provide shipping details on the site. The vehicle I bought last year allowed me to track the...
Mike, thanks for sharing. Seems like you lucked out in terms of a quick shipping process, so hopefully I match your experience.
I have already filled out and completed all the ownership steps, so the only thing missing is vehicle delivery.
I would love to take a Telluride trip in the...
I had a Rivian on order last year, but lucked into an F-150 Lightning last September, so I canceled my R1T order. When I saw the announcement that Rivian could potentially get you an R1T in two weeks, depending on the location, so I jumped and put down a deposit.
I am in Denver, which seems...
I drove Teslas for a long time, and yes, the Tesla supercharging network is the strength of the company. The car drive quality is mediocre at best if you have a Model S, down right junk if you drive any of the other three models.
I would rather drive my Porsche, a Lucid, or a Rivian any day...
This is total hogwash. You can easily road trip long distances in a non-Tesla.
A Lucid or a Porsche will kick the crap out of any Tesla on a road trip due to faster charging speeds and superior charging curves.
Put down the Tesla "Jim Jones juice" and do a little research before you comment...
