I have my bet on humans getting worse. In fact I'd probably invest money in it if there was a straight forwards way of doing so.
So much worse that it will erase any gains made in cars being smarter.
Personally I think drivers should be selected by insurance companies and not the other way...
Nah.
They're hipsters and breeders. :p
My R1T does tock to them though.
More seriously it really depends on the situation. At an EA station its painfully obvious as to who's new to EA charging so I try to help them out.
With a RAN I imagine it depends on how remote it is. The more remote...
This is why I like using adaptive cruise control while in situations where my senses can get overloaded like when trying to quickly change lanes at the last moment.
One piece of advise that I got from my sister decades ago was to be careful with my tendency to be singularly focused. I think...
I'm curious about this as well.
There are quite a few people out their vandalizing large trucks and EV's because their upset at the danger their doing to the environment.
So he could be one of these guys.
If I was the OP and either had time or lots of money I'd figure out who this guy was...
On short trips I simply wait till I get to my location.
On medium to long trips I wear my Apple Watch to receive the text, and I wait till I'm stopped to send the text.
Luckily the only one that regularly will text me is my GF, and we're at the point in the relationship where it's nice to...
Rivian is my second worst car delivery process. This was mostly due to it being the early days where there was so many disconnects in the process.
The worst was when company they contracted out to wanted to me to do an oath statement on a bible. I refused and I think they internally contacted...
The issue with Tesla is the whole EAP/FSD thing left a lot of customers unhappy.
I purchased EAP and FSD in 2018, but neither one did what they were supposed to do for the four years of ownership.
So I didn't really consider the whole ADAS thing when making my decision to leave Tesla and to...
I suspect that at some point Rivian will discover that some SW flag to set the Software limitation of the large pack wasn't set correctly.
So really the question the OP has to ask themselves is if they want to be the ones that inform Rivian of the mistake or do they want to wait till the...
That sucks, but its certainly better than driving to pick up a vehicle only to discover its not in a state where its ready to be picked up.
When I picked up my Rivian it had bird crap on it. When I pointed it they kinda just ignored me and went "oh".
I didn't force them to clean it at the time...
Can get we Captain Chairs in the R1S to go with the new controls for the rear display?
In all seriousness I might be the only one excited for this update because I've been hoping to Rivian would add some kind of feedback mechanism to fix the map errors.
I know you can do it externally, but its...
I like to think of things in terms of whether they have traction or not.
Nothing indicates to me that there is traction in the US for self-driving cars to come any time soon. Aside from expanding robotaxi's and scaling up from the MB L3.
Solid State batteries on the other hand do seem to have...
I do think its ironic that we share are roads in the US with clearly unsafe lifted trucks and other bizarre things, but we're terrified of someone loading custom FW onto all the various modules used in an EV.
Now sure there is the potential for failure, but no more so then if I hack my ICE...
I think this is more similar to not turning on airplane mode when told to do so.
So many people ignore the airplane mode requirement that being told to do so has lost all meaning.
I feel like we've been told not because of liability reasons. But, there is no way that Tesla is going to ship...
I can't seem to find lane keep assist in the Driver+ menu.
I looked today and I simply don't see Lane Keep assist.
Edit: You have to turn on lane departure warning to get to a submenu that has the lane keep assist options. I've had lane departure warning off since delivery.
Just go expert level and call it L2 mode.
I think the other thread was mostly a good warning to keep the hands at the steering wheel in case of the twitches.
What's a joke is the ability of human beings to drive.
You'd think that most humans would be capable of staying in the lanes, keeping proper distance from the car in front, and not flipping out when some idiot cuts in. But, humans aren't so good at any of those. Not when you look at the...
Especially not on a system that was supposed to be hands free, but never became hands free.
Also not on a system where the designers went "OOPS!" and disabled the functionality of the driver monitoring camera because it didn't work.
The part I'm confused about is multiple posters have reported having to fight the lane steering feature to regain control.
In my experience it disengages lane steering really easily without any significant force.
Now I do have lane departure prevention (or whatever its called) turned off...
