My S came with 22’s. I bought the 20 brights from Rivian, just the wheels, no tires. They allowed me to do this for $2222. The tires are 275/60/20 Pirelli AS plus 3. My S has averaged 2.48 mi/kwh over 6k miles. My T only got 2.31 mi/kwh with the 21’s. There are multiple threads on this so check...
There are options for the 20’s current. 20’s on 275/60/20 AS tires get better range than the 22’s and 21’s. My R1S large, quad, with 20’s on 275/60/20 AS tires is 7% more efficient than my T large, quad with 21’s. Pirelli AS Plus 3.
20’s on 275/60/20 AS tires get better range than the 22’s. My R1S large, quad, with 20’s on 275/60/20 AS tires is 7% more efficient than my T large, quad with 21’s.
Yes, AS plus 3 for sure. I’m not sure if I want to continue with Pirelli or switch to the Michelin m/s2 when the pirellis are done. The other night coming home from dinner I was averaging 2.5mph on highway at 75mph. Lifetime number is still at 2.47 mi/kwh. Context, my R1T with OEM 21’s was only...
Yeah I don’t think it would look good. Again, my opinion but I’m okay their restrictions. You cannot get the slate sky blue interior with exterior red, green, or Rivian blue. Which, the only problem I’d have with that list is slate sky should be allowed with Rivian blue. Blues go with blues.
It’s not also just about changing color. You can wrap almost any surface and design the vehicle how you see it. Me, I think the S looks better without a black contrasting roof.
Agreed a new term for SUV's is needed. It is not just wagons being called SUV's, it sedans and anything that rides high a SUV. BMW X6 SUV, GLE Coupe SUV, Rambo Urus SUV. Great example is the Porsche Cayenne GT Coupe SUV. I mean come on, consumers have to stop being so dumb and buying that has...
Great write up.
On a side note, I think BMW completely squandered their look and is no longer iconic. The design language of the newer models is horrible.
20’s on 275/60/20 AS tires are more efficient than the 21’s. Smaller wheels are more efficient, it’s just math.
My R1S, quad, large on 20 brights with 275/60/20 Pirelli AS 3 is 7% more efficient than my R1T, quad, large on 21’s.
Lifetime R1S mi/kwh is 2.47. R1T was 2.31
On the wireless charger, I think it’s embarrassing that all the did was put that divider in the middle and called it fixed. No thank you on the retro fit for Gen1. Others in the community have done way better! This one I have from Adventure High Tech has to be the best out there. Sunglass...
I had a friend of mine that owns a mechanic shop put them on so no issues but I have seen people on other threads get turned away for the load rating.
There is another thread where the grabbers are a little more efficient than my setup. Kitesurfer has a great post on it.
20 inch wheels with 275/60/20 is the most efficient setup.
I have it on my R1S and it’s 7% more efficient than my R1T.
R1T quad large with 21’s got 2.31mi/kwh over 6k miles. R1S quad large got 2.47mi/kwh over same distance.
I’m with ya man, I wish there was a retractable shade. I permanently leave up my EV Sportline shade all summer in Florida since it’s too annoying to put up and take down.
But yeah probably not too much of an issue for headroom but they can’t afford to rework the headliner while they’re still a...
