Yes, I understand those are there but there is no substitute for the real view in a mirror. Luxury cars like Mercedes have had the tilt down since mid 2000’s. You put it in reverse, and look in the mirror. I prefer not to deal with the touch screen every time I back up.
I’m not sure why you are knocking a small data point that shows a case for people to put AS tires on their 20’s for efficiency. I just got the S and will continue to post data from my S that compares to my T because that’s the closest apple to apples comparison we have. Comparing mi/kWh to other...
Ok, so let’s start from the beginning. It’s safe to say the T is more aerodynamic than the S because the T gets 347 in conserve mode versus the S 328. That is with the 21” wheels with aero caps inserted from Rivian.
This thread is about efficiency of the 20 inch wheels on AS tires compared to...
I can make a comparison between the two. Correct, it’s not truly an exact comparison, but it’s the closest anyones been able to comment on with the 20’s AS versus 21’s setup on any of these forums. Most of these forums people bash each other and complain they get better numbers or worse numbers...
I already put on the Pirellis. I’ll consider these when it’s time to replace.
I drove a 160 mile trip over the weekend with my R1S and saw 2.24 mi/kWh with average speed of 68mph.
the best I had with my R1T on 21’s for that same trip was 2.2 mi/kW, avg speed 70mph.
I’ll take that with the S...
does anyone think we could even see better performance from the 20 inch AS setup with this tire from Hankook? It’s not as good as the Pirelli AS 3 but it is electric vehicle tuned...
Ok sweet, I’m at 48 too.
I saw awesome efficiency last weekend driving on 95 S. 2.73 on highway. Will post official numbers with a longer trip in a few weeks.
No it’s pretty much a fact smaller wheels are more efficient.
plus, more data on the 21’s comparison, I had an R1T with 21’s. I now have my R1S on 20’s with AS tires. I’m just as efficient if not more with the 20 setup. Not to mention I have running boards and mudflaps on the R1S.
To be honest all the wheels they have are ugly. Even the super expensive ones are so so. The $900 a wheel is okay looking. But again, more expensive than the Rivian set.
$2222 for the 20 AT Brights. Not bad for forged 20’s. EV Sportline is selling forged 20’s for $900 a wheel. I was told they would make an exception for me. I was shocked they sold them to me not as a kit that I didn’t bother asking for the TPMS. So it was just the wheel. My shop swapped the TPMS...
Nope, my S came with 22’s on it so I don’t need to reprogram.
Rivian actually sold me just the wheels, no kit. I was shocked. Had my buddy pick them up from the SC last week. So I’m selling my 22’s with 240 miles on them if anyone wants them.
