Or we could bend over and let Chinese vehicles invade the market. I see nothing but positives with this JV regardless of the eventual outcome. At least someone's trying.

So no shop for Canada any longer but if you really wanted, you could force it to ship to a US address of one of the many forwarding companies...
I've never really understood the logic of capping incentives, apart from the political gains for not being seen as giving handouts to the rich. If you really want to incentivize, do it across the board. Rich people are often frugal and can be just as incentivized as someone with much less money...
Rivian isn't really starting from scratch though like the early days of EV's. They have drawn from other companies for some of their employees and have gained from the advances already made. So I don't see them as being put at so much of a disadvantage.
I hope they and Scout each survive and...
Owned a few Toyota's before my first EV in 2018 and was at the Toyota dealership with my new Tesla and the sales guy even back then was lamenting about how they weren't doing anything to be in this space and he saw my M3 as being the future.
Then watching them over the next 6 years continue to...
The sole R1T Tri-Max that was available in Ontario, Canada is no longer available. Congrats to the new owner. This leaves a performance Dual Max and 2 Dual Large trucks.
Have had FSD the better part of 6 years. Hard pass. Highway assisted with excellent lane centering including slight adjustments when near other vehicles is all that's required.
I can't imagine not having regen / one pedal driving. I never fail to scare myself when driving an ICE vehicle which is quite infrequent. And can't help think about all that wasted energy when I take my foot off the pedal and quickly surmise I'm in need of braking.
My first EV had almost 60k...
On my M3's for my work week, I charge to 70% which gets me to work at about 52% and back home around 30% at worst. On weekends, I let it sit at 55% if there are no trips happening. Always keep it plugged in.
When temps drop to about 45°F in the fall, I'll increase that to 80% and will increase...
I would consider a Pebble but they are cost prohibitive, for me at least. With sufficient infrastructure, you only need so much energy. With the momentum that using electrons has, I'm not seeing hydrogen as an option in my lifetime.
I'm just saying that if you think the generator will barely...
Today I cancelled one of my 2 reservations. (Traveller with Harvester) I think I'll go with an R2 and possibly an R1T though we'll see what the Terra (without harvester) locks in as. Robust, Bi-Directional V2H seals the deal for me. Rivian needs to step up their game. 800v charging with...
I reserved both models and also have an R2 on reserve. Just hedging my bets as we'll be looking for 2 vehicles. Maybe end up with none of the above. I like the new R1T tri-motor but don't like the tire wear in conserve mode. I think I'd also prefer a more traditional truck bed which the Terra...
I've had a model 3 since 2018 and updated it to FSD when it was offered cheaply and reloaded last year on a new model 3 without FSD as to that point, I had overwhelmingly concluded that FSD was so bad as to be unusable.
It's come a long ways but is still nowhere near that of a normal driving...
