I presume EREV's could be software managed to ensure maximum use of the battery as opposed to the ICE. I'm not a fan but have to admit they may have mid-term value for the very large vehicle segment. Regardless of Ford's troubles, I think its a smart move for them. Not many people want a 180+...
It's a good theory as this will surely happen at some point, regardless.
Just to note though...If you take Canadian oil out of the equation, Canada actually has a trade deficit, and the U.S. has a surplus — of $58 billion.
Yes, because we've taken a measured response, as would be expected. Whether it escalates or deescalates is the question. A protracted trade war that included automobiles would be devastating on both sides of the border.
Yes, all true. The article goes on to say:
" The term "encounters" includes apprehensions, people who are deemed inadmissible and those who are expelled from the U.S."
and:
"We, the United States, do have a significant challenge on our southern border. To equate the two borders is to...
I've gone from a HD truck to a fair sized SUV to a Tesla Model 3. Maybe it's just me but the size differences haven't provided many negatives. Just in the middle of washing my very salt stained model 3 by hand and that would be onerous on an R1. But having moved up and down a few times, I would...
I happened to be talking to Sales in Normal today and it sounded like leasing was an option. I wasn't interested in it so don't have any details. I would call and ask for Sales and inquire directly.
As has been said...while Tesla has authorized most to now use their SC's, no one on either side has done much to inform the consumer so of course this ensues but with patience and time, will sort itself out. Most people at the end of the day are quite reasonable.
The vast majority of Tesla...
I have a Rivian service center an hour away and even then it makes me hesitate a bit though the same was true for my first Tesla. Reservation holders will become one of Rivian's best assets if they can deliver a great vehicle with few issues and good, timely service.
It could very well be that the Scout REX ends up with a battery providing more than 150 miles but I thought that's what was stated originally and to me, that's not enough. Needs to be 2-250 miles. There's a ton of chatter about it on Scout forums but at the end of the day, it's not public...
Scout is simply appealing to their demographic. The vast majority of reservation holders appear to have selected the range extender so they have definitely struck a chord with potential buyers who appear to be needs and range first, EV benefits second. Some have genuine needs for this, others...
Even with Tesla's FSD package, I don't trust it to behave properly with merging traffic let alone become disengaged and not be paying attention. Until you know any autonomous driving software is capable of acting in a highly predictable manner in the exact same situations...you don't and should...
I think technically you can only drive solo on HOV lanes where permitted. Not all are when I first looked into this. 401 is good but signage seems limited to one just prior to them starting. Not sure about the 403. That said, the number of violations I see on any given commute are pretty...
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't understand what can possibly be gleaned from people's opinions that would serve any real world value in respect to understanding whether Rivian has what it takes to survive or not.
I know a woman that has a new Ford Explorer who doesn't like the R1S at all and a few guys that don't consider the R1T a real truck and compare it to the Avalanche. I was unable to change their minds. But no stereotypes of owners.
You are good.
I prefer my vehicles to NOT be washed when in for service. Just inviting micro scratches.
That's a lot of accolades for a relatively simple service appointment.
I give Rivian credit though for having gotten as far as they have and through some rough times such as the pandemic and the sheer...
I also personally would never own an EV if I wasn't home charging. In 6 years, I've used a SC about a dozen or so times. But I do have a long daily commute and a Model 3 which is a somewhat perfect scenario for EV ownership. Doesn't hurt that I'm paying 2.4 cents per kWh overnight.
Back in the...
Who makes the PTC? I had a Retrax manual roll-up cover in my truck years ago and it was great and would lock itself in place anywhere along its travel. I see they also have electric models out now as well but are not listing Rivian as an option.
Even the Tesla Model 3 sucks in the corners. Too much weight. I can hear my tires starting to lose grip before I can feel it though which really helps and having 19" sticky tires (which I don't have now but have in the past) made a huge difference. (PS 4S)
20" AT's (I've had BFG KO2's on a...
