  1. Rival: 2026 BMW iX3 reviews are impressive... R2 has its work cut out

Yes, an option in Europe as a-la-carte is the more typical vehicle configurator whereas in North America, it's traditionally by packages/trims, with some exceptions. I don't think you'll be seeing the M-Sport steering wheel as an option in NA but I hope I'm wrong. Just trying to prepare myself...
  2. Rival: 2026 BMW iX3 reviews are impressive... R2 has its work cut out

Yes, if Tariffs remain, this might be my next vehicle. It's pretty compelling though I'd only want the M-Sport steering wheel which would force you up stream in build and costs as I don't think a-la-carte will be available in North America. [edit] Later learned that the M-Sport Pro steering...
  3. R2 has bidirectional V2L / V2H (vehicle-to-home) specification article

This is why, while I'm not a fan of Elon (always have to preface that), I went with a PW3 and 1 expansion pack. Installers have good familiarity, approvals were seamless and the ecosystem is well developed and in continuous improvement. I don't trust the MFG's will adopt a standardized/universal...
  4. 2026 BMW iX3 launches as R2 competitor

" Being in a BMW, they had a good excuse to keep turn signal usage to a minimum, too. "
  5. 2026 BMW iX3 launches as R2 competitor

Yes, 2.8-3.0 mi/kWh for Lucid Gravity on large wheels and fairly high temps and speeds. At 70 mph, mi/kWh really tightens up compared to EPA, making the difference between the Tesla Model Y LR, the iX3 (next) and the R2 (last) very minimal. So if the R2 has a battery pack that's close in size...
  6. 2026 BMW iX3 launches as R2 competitor

The Silverado "stuck to 20-25 mph whenever possible, didn't use the climate control and made modifications to reduce rolling resistance and drag." The BMW iX3’s 1,000 km hypermile test was conducted using standard, unmodified equipment and typical driving speeds, primarily on secondary roads...
  7. 2026 BMW iX3 launches as R2 competitor

Yes you are right about that, my bad. I believe it was a YT video with a BMW exec. I forget which one. I'll try to find it. I do recall him mentioning EPA range, not WLTP but perhaps he got his metrics mixed up. The USA site says 400mi so I would believe that before one person's statement, for sure.
  8. 2026 BMW iX3 launches as R2 competitor

If BMW says it will get 500 mile EPA range, it's highly likely that it will. They don't play games with their numbers like Tesla does. They just proved they can get 1000km/620 miles if they hypermile it so you'd think 500 would be fairly doable. Way more costly than an R2 though.
  9. 2026 BMW iX3 launches as R2 competitor

iX3 1000 km range test You will need to turn on English subtitles. Good Cd, large battery, crossover size = long range. Nothing new there. Will be interesting to see if Tesla does something similar with a larger pack size. If the R2 had this and 800v, even as an option, it would slay the...
  10. Apple CarPlay coming to rival Tesla

Tesla sales were the highest ever, globally in the last quarter. They are always using levers. CP is just another in a long list but it's a pretty significant one so no doubt they are forecasting a big dip ahead to finally try this one. It's not that important to me. Though speaking of levers...
  11. Apple CarPlay coming to rival Tesla

USA - IOS 58% -- Android 42% Canada - IOS 60% -- Android 40% More or less. I'm in the minority being both in Canada and having avoided Apple all my life despite most around me having it. As a Tesla owner, it's a bit of a slap in the face to only come out with CP. I like the idea of having...
  12. 2026 BMW iX3 launches as R2 competitor

I'm one of those weird cross shoppers that would consider this. I could put up with the beaver teeth. Better than a urinal and perhaps could do a modification to mitigate it a bit. Though I see the R2 as sitting very nicely (my optics only, of course) between a Scout and an iX3. Just wish the R2...
  13. Rivian service rant - busted home charger

If you are J1772, the Tesla Universal Wall Connector would be your best Tesla option if they won't replace it, but I'm presuming they will eventually come around. It's unfortunate you are being penalized for having tried to give it a 2nd chance.
  14. MASSIVE # of Charge Port Door Actuators Fail

He's not a reporter doing investigative journalism. I don't know what more you could ask for.
  15. R2 has bidirectional V2L / V2H (vehicle-to-home) specification article

In my area you are only allowed to have 10 kW of grid connected generation. My PW3 inverter had to be delimited to this. So V2H could only be used if the power was out. Which is fine but I'll have to consider the costs. I'm not sure I'd want to do load displacement with an EV that has an NMC...
  16. Stock price prediction upon release of the R2?

IIRC, I was thinking of getting in due to having a reservation and with the factory shut down it seemed that would be a low point so just monitored and bought with a now or never mentality. My last buy was at $8.54. I think it was the 11th to the 15th. One was around $9.20 and another (1st one)...
  17. Stock price prediction upon release of the R2?

My average cost is $9.20 so can't complain but even then have been thinking of getting out. Though if it goes down further after the earnings call, I've probably missed that boat. I was hoping it would go a long ways towards buying an R2 and maybe it will since CDN orders likely won't start...
  18. Rivian V2X V2H Solution available now using PointGuard/Sigenergy BiDirectional?

Battery degradation from strictly backup or even mild use would be next to nothing, esp if you are managing the use when possible and staying away from the extremes. My goal is to have 2 V2H vehicles which would provide emergency power almost indefinitely provided a charger is functioning within...
  19. Rivian V2X V2H Solution available now using PointGuard/Sigenergy BiDirectional?

The Wallbox Quasar 2 can be ordered now within specific states and general availability towards the end of year most likely. Said to be supported by Kia EV9. Has anyone looked at their system? The EV9 is my backup plan if Tariffs continue next year. Quasar 2
