Switching to 21" may help you, but donāt bet on it. Iāve had them on my config for two months and my guide (who Iāve had for almost three months) seemingly has no idea whatās up with my order.
This is my experience, verbatim. Itās almost like Rivian has selected us as āhopeful cancellationā targets or something with how badly theyāre treating us. Debating on writing an email to these people and asking if this is how I should expect to be treated after I drop $$$ on a truck.
That unfortunately makes sense from a logistics perspective. If they openly shared what the "flavor of the week" was, everyone would switch to it and that would be no good for planning.
Ah yeah, those 20" AT tires are going to get you. I swapped to 21" two weeks after I got my guide and it's like the system isn't aware of that or something. Hopefully they start building trucks with them again soon. Be hopeful that you have a delivery window, at least! I don't have one at all.
Nope, I don't. I apparently don't even have an estimated delivery window. Guide has no idea what's holding me up and apparently doesn't want to look into it either lol.
If I didn't know better I'd be starting to think they want me to cancel hah.
Wow, this is the first I've heard of this...
At least you have a delivery window. I've had a guide for 10+ weeks and I don't even have a delivery window. This has been such a frustrating experience to spend this amount of money. Totally get that they're a brand new org but I really hope they're at least experimenting with different...
Just bumping this so it doesn't fall off the face of the earth.
I just crossed the 10 week mark yesterday, looks like I'm going to be one of those "over 12 weeks (to Eternity... and Beyond!)" folks ?.
Beautiful truck man! Almost went with that combo by my guide talked me out of it! Where at on the east coast if you donāt mind me asking? Iām in NC and Iām pretty sure Iām at the back of the line because of that alone.
Sorry for derailing the convo a bit! I bet you could come up with a more DIY solution for what youāre looking for, but sadly I donāt have any useful info for your original query.
@crashmtb you may be right about that, but I donāt think thatās what OP was asking about given that their original message reads like theyāre looking for a pedestal mount for the consumer EVSE.
I was more trying to point out that they wonāt sell/send you one until youāre actively purchasing the vehicle (and thus no longer a "preorder" and now an "order"). The point remains the same, they arenāt just letting anyone buy one.
Rivian seems to be extremely limited on how many chargers they have. Given that theyāre not selling them to preorder holders or the general public you may be waiting several years before you can get your hands on them.
Ah, that's an interesting observation/theory! I can certainly see that making a lot of sense. If a service center is smaller/newer/less staffed that could definitely mean less throughput on the deliveries there.
Based on my experience they're probably pulling that data from the same API. Meaning the update to the back end and front end is happening at the same time. It's certainly possible they have separate systems for that sort of thing but that data has to be centralized somewhere.
