Here it is - it kicks in when I kept an even speed at 6mph, and then again when I leveled out at 11mph. Sounds like a trapped pigeon or chipmunk. Sorry for the hand-held video!
Fortunately, my service appointment (scheduled 6-ish weeks ago) is coming up next Friday.
A couple days ago, I noticed an odd sound when I was holding steady speed, whether by pedal manipulation, or cruise control.
I have a hard time describing it, but it only happens at steady speed, and...
Agreed that it's not hard to work with. It just feels like a unnecessary restriction. I imagine they'll remove it when they can get around to address whatever complexity it introduces.
I'm wondering how you get parts pried out of Rivian for things like fixing the battery pack. I suppose you could buy multiple and piece a whole one together, but at the prices some of these seem to be going at, I'm not sure you end up cash-positive.
I've been scratching my head about this since getting my R1T 4 months ago. I'd love it if someone would point out something obvious to me!
When I've got cruise control engaged, I'm not allowed to adjust ride height. For the life of me, I can't imagine why this interlock would be required.
Ideas?
+1 to the sentiment that proximity to a service center is critical. When Rivian can't (or won't) tackle a problem with a mobile tech visit, then I've got a 3-hour round trip to make, twice (once leaving the vehicle, once reclaiming it) in addition to however long they keep it for.
TBH, as much...
Good luck with that, if you're working with Bellevue. I just got off a very dissatisfying call with a Rivian "Service Coordinator" (if I'm remembering the role correctly).
"No," I can't talk to the SC.
"No," I can't ask for a mobile tech to come and try rebooting it.
"No," I can't move my appt...
Mine did the same thing about the same time. My description is in this thread: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/r1s-wont-reset-no-gps-lte-or-wifi.13415/#post-315949
"Telematic" makes more sense to me than "Transmission." I suspect the OP for my source had the word wrong.
3 days I can live with. 3 weeks would be a heck of a lot harder. This is encouraging!
I had the exact same thing happen 2 days ago (Apr 10). The support people I talked to seemed to have no idea about it as a set of symptoms, but Googling tells me folks have seen it as far back as a year ago. This is a few days after my mobile tech had to come back and reboot the 12v systems...
My 12v batteries went wonky over the weekend. I already had a service visit scheduled (to bring me a spare, which then showed up with part of the jack missing), and Rivian had added a "courtesy inspection" of the 12v system to my work order before any issues showed up. Oddly, the tech didn't...
I just went through this for the first time today (after 15 entire days of ownership!), and had to re-pair. The truck was unlocked (at home), and lagged a bit to wake up once I got in the cab with the fob. Re-pairing fixed it for now.
