Come on now folks...we can't be a havin' any functional changes on the drive mode settings because it's more important to have a team of graphic designers updating those "pretty" wireframe graphics in those screens every month. :giggle:
Regardless if you're in the market for a used vehicle in the next few months, avoid anything with a Carfax that lists them from any of the devastated states -- this goes for BEV or ICE. Also if the Carfax isn't clear (as they sometimes try to hide where these cars come from) avoid it like the...
If doing the 5-tire rotation, make sure to remove the spare from the wheel well for the people at the shop, and then return it after the rotation. There's a threaded stud that goes through the center of the spare in the well, and I'd practically guarantee the teenager doing your rotation will...
When I've been in for Service, the local Enterprise usually likes to put Rivian customers into their electric fleet...as we understand electric better. That being said, when they offered me a little BEV one time, I said no, I need to carry people around and that won't work. Enterprise then...
The 60 series tires will also make the overall diameter about 33" vs the 34" on the 65 series tire. Like everything else in life, there's trade offs and the smaller diameter will likely be softer, cost less, but also will throw off your speedo by about 3%. Depending on how severe your winter...
Rock chips are a part of wear & tear and happen to all of them. Don't worry about that tonneau cover as they are known issue...heck, I'd be more surprised if the thing was working!
These things are great vehicles. I have 19k miles on mine in about 15 months and Loving every mile...
With AT Tires, you're doing pretty good...these are the least efficient tires Rivian offers. These things have the aerodynamics of bricks and speed, elevation, wind, ambient temp, and additional accessories will all greatly affect your range. What you posted above is in line with what others...
I never noticed this "feature" but then the first thing I do in any Nav-equipped car is turn off the audio instructions. I already have enough nags in the car telling me where to go and how to turn, I don't need the car piling it on as well....
I do a 5-wheel rotation in my driveway with one jack a a puck. I do need to put a couple of 2x6s under the jack to get it up high enough to life the truck. I rotate about every 5500 miles, and by the time I get about 25k on the truck, I'll only have about 20k on the tires. I figure I bought...
Are the music apps going to improve?
We
Can
Only
Hope
I get that Rivian wants to own the entire SW stack, but one would think that getting music integration would be a fairly easy task.
I really wish Rivian would allow us to swap at least through different OEM sizes so people can adjust these things as their needs fit. Like the OP here who wants to have off road tires only when he goes off roading.
Another use case is to be able to go from the 34" tire to the 33" so you can...
Agree with others above. Although it can be done (I've done it before) it's likely not best practice as you're applying a lot of additional torque on the CVs and other driveline components that isn't really necessary. With as computerized as these vehicles are, who's to know if it's logged...
I thought the ambient lights only ever came on when the headlights come on...I've never even looked for them during the day and it seems like a waste of energy to have them on.
Dear Rivian,
Please stop with the silly "drive mode animation" updates every update. It sounds like there's a very vocal PM who owns that content and keeps pushing for his/her team on the relevant importance. The old real-time animations were much better than these silly line drawings.
I...
I'm not sure why there's a discussion of IL lemon law when the OP is based in WA State...he would fall under WA State laws.
I've had one car fall under the CA lemon law and in that instance, it was 18 months or 18k miles to first report the issue. If it's a major/safety issue, the manufacturer...
