I wonder if the 20" AS might be a (secret?) no-cost option on Performance, otherwise some devoted to 20" but not wanting to cough up more $ to downsize wheels might drop themselves down to Premium?
Otherwise Rivian might own-goal itself?
My impression is that Lidar, et al. will be a mid-MY27 change at year's end 2026 vs. early flip to MY28. But I've not actually read that anywhere. I have read that June-July has been MY turnover in recent years, we'll see when/whether flip to MY27 R1 happens same time this summer.
Has the...
What does Rivian MY turnover look like in the ordering system? Anyone been shopping for an early-next-MY R1, what was the cue to go ahead and submit your order? Some kind of bold banner across the top that orders for current MY have ended, and that new MY (& pricing) is in effect going...
I'm too new here to understand the Pirelli hate, but I'll share that I have WeatherActive 3PMSF on all three of our vehicles. Hope they become available for R2's 255/60/R20 -
Meanwhile, BFG markets Trail-Terrain T/A as 3PMSF, but Tire Rack doesn't agree for R2's 20" size (BFG site doesn't...
"The system covers the full Launch Package for the Performance trim — the only variant available at the initial rollout."
Wonder what the scope of the public configurator will be initially - just Performance + LP to play around with? Maybe additional Performance variants? Perhaps Premium and...
I expect to be shopping in summer 2027 for MY28, would like to see Red Canyon added to the mix. If not or I don’t like it on R2, white is likely choice.
Honestly some of this seems like the right trade-off, at least for my own personal use case -
- The dual-motor R2 does not include a mechanical locking differential
- To reduce costs and weight, the R2 replaces the R1’s air suspension and hydraulic roll control with a more conventional setup...
Well hopefully Rivian has the smarts not to remove amber rear turn signals just for NA. Volvo did that for its SPA2 cars and its more informed/educated/worldly customer sub-segment was unimpressed. Why remove a safety advantage just for NA?
"Amber rear turn signals are generally considered...
Thanks you for sharing this - delighted to see amber rear turn signals (known to be safer vs. red) - perhaps due to international markets?
That said, for above (in motion) left turn, I noticed while stopped before moving that left indicator was flashing but right remained on until brake...
