Love seeing this thread, Iām only at ~34k mainly because I was WFH the first couple years of ownership but am planning on keeping 10+ years. I still have my last new vehicle, 2006 Land Cruiser with 134k Iāve handed down to my HS daughter. Couple people have told me itās crazy to have the same...
Looks really good, Iād go with the black. You think there are no options now, you should have seen the market back in ā22 when I moved from a built Cruiser š The aero comment is real though, youāll want to try to optimize so you donāt take a big range hit.
Rivian is terrible, my door handle stopped retracting. I fiddled with it, I played with the app, finally acquiesced and opened a ticket. A week later I had to drop it off at the service center and get a loaner R1T. Terrible I tell ya. <satire, but true>
Itās a car, stuff happen, lots of...
Not sure other than the obvious Gen1/2 differences, I have had mine over 3yrs and minimal issues as well. I track this one as an annoyance, have had several over the time Iāve had it and they usually correct it š
I had been seeing ~.5kW per day, was out of town for 8 days and lost 10% SOC was why I noticed. Had seen this much in the past, but had been much better until this update.
This particular release seems bad, Iāve been loosing more battery (~1.4kW/day) while parked and the PAK is a lot worse. Usually they follow these up with a quick fix š¤I didnāt even get the hands free š
If you come up with something slick, have them make me a set too. I have some of the Mars adapters ready, just never got around to it. Stock work fine, have caught large items on the brackets unloading but otherwise kinda forgot them. Posted info to get the brake light going in this thread š»
I only use conserve mode on road trips or when I really need to save battery, itās just your front two motors as others have said. In the new quad they are also smaller motors, so makes sense that it would be more noticeable. Itās always a shock when I punch it in conserve expecting a visceral...
Itās all about driving style, Iāve gone 356 miles in my quad/large pack R1T in conserve even though it shows 314 miles at 100% (EPA is 321). What hurts you in DFW is all the freeways/tolls, you will never see the EPA numbers driving 75-80 with the AC blasting š Cooler months, keep it to 65 and...
Itās too bad Airstream didnāt move forward with production of the eStream, the layout is a no go for me as well. For those of you who have never lived with a bed w/o side access, your partner is fully awake whenever the other one gets in or out (think bathroom in the middle of the night)...
Hadnāt seen anyone show how to connect the brake light, found another thread that detailed where to tap into harness at DS pillar behind seat.
Details Here
Thanks @SJaYx2P - finally got around to doing this today and worked great. I was able to just remove the rear panel and fish it through the upper unused grommet. Didnāt have to remove seat, just pried back trim and spliced with the positaps š
Iām only at 31k on mine but feel exactly the same, very few issues in three years of ownership. Only time Iāve questioned was when the 12v gave up in a Lowes parking lot, but still puts a smile on my face every time I drive her!
May be the weight of these vehicles, I know on my previous Land Cruisers 20-30k brake jobs were expected. Iām sure brake assist would play into it as well -
They are required, they have welded studs that the top & sides bolt to from underneath. You might be able to fab something from flat stock, but just bolts wouldnāt provide enough strength for the load rating. These are really stout rails, I had hoped to replace with some Yakima rails to mount...
