I read the subject and thought that you were implying that you were the lucky one who got a problem free Rivian and then I read the post and it seemed much more plausible.
It’s still only a base coat without mid. These are not difficult colors to repair and the refinish formulas have proven to be solid for everything but yellow.
lol. Ford sold twice as many evs alone in 2025 than Rivian made altogether. I'm sure your Rivian is a wonderful car next to your F150 but you're kidding yourself if you don't see which of the two companies is in a much more vulnerable spot. Now that the US seems to be In the oil piracy game...
lol yes. The median household income is equivalent to base model Rivian OTD.
The average used car sale price is about 3x what a new BASE model Rivian cost.
Rivian as it is now is a rich people car.
I got so frustrated with the spotty phone key performance on our gen 2 that I paid them to give me a key that should have come with the car in the first place. Will this negate the need to bring a fob along or do I still have to get my phone out of my pocket and threaten to unlock it with the app?
I have had some of those issues and also several others on my gen 2. 3.5 service appointments in 700 miles and still have persistent problems. I know folks have problem free vehicles but that’s certainly not everyone’s case.
I guess I had some amount of hope that Rivian would focus its efforts on making excellent driving vehicles, not trying to compete with Tesla with a different form factor. I am so uninterested in whatever an “ai defined vehicle” is.
We have a gen 1 and gen 2 quad. The gen 2 is built like trash compared to the first gen. It’s not worth it IMO. Maybe if you care about the autonomy stuff but otherwise i think the gen 2 is a terrible value.
I guess if they’re not going to improve autonomy for Gen 1 vehicles they may as well hide their failed attempt by allowing us to hide the laughable lack of awareness that the cars seem to have of what’s around them. Happy to make nav the center of the display.
We have a 2024 dual T and a 2025 max tri S. I’d keep the first gen any day over the gen 2. The second gen is built way worse, the doors are fucking stupid, and the other minor improvements are not worth the cost.
I think it’s too early to be able to claim that it’s going to be as capable as a 4Runner. The r1 is not even as capable as a stock trd offroad as soon as the pavement ends.
