  1. Small Refrigerator Blew the Inverter

For what it’s worth, I have a Jackery that I also use at home to power kitchen appliances during the hours that our electricity price doubles (TOU pricing). I noticed that it turned itself off when nothing was running - to save power, I guess. I was eventually able to go into the settings and...
  2. Small Refrigerator Blew the Inverter

Exactly. Except when the inverter failed, the timer would no longer work, even for 12v. It would allow you to set it, then would shut off a few seconds later when it found out the inverter didn’t respond.
  3. Small Refrigerator Blew the Inverter

Interestingly, when the inverter failed, the timer stopped working, both for 12v and 110v. But climate hold or camp mode work fine
  4. Small Refrigerator Blew the Inverter

I switched the fridge to 12v when the 110 stopped working, and there have been no problems. It even stays on more consistently, and you don’t need to set a timer! Meanwhile, the Silver Fox is in the shop getting the inverter replaced, requiring a battery drop. Hope they have a better supplier...
  5. PSA: 40% Up-Charge on Tesla Superchargers (Unless You Do This)

Let’s face it - the charger network is still in its infancy, so players can charge high rates since they often have monopoly positions in many geographic areas. Over time as it builds out, rates will come down closer to the kWh cost from the local utility.
  6. Small Refrigerator Blew the Inverter

I would think the lack of air circulation in the subtrunk would tax the fridge compressor. No?
  7. Small Refrigerator Blew the Inverter

Well I’ll be gosh darned. Got the same Bouge RV fridge (draws like 100 watts) for the Rivian after replacing our tricked out Metris camper with the R1S. Two days into our trip, 110 v outlets stopped working. We stopped for service at the mothership in Normal (in the middle of a cross country...
  8. Universal hands free UHF faults

Why am I beginning to feel like a beta tester? All these hard resets being me back to the days when te most used keys on your windows keyboard were control alt delete!
  9. Universal hands free UHF faults

Good info. Latest from our long trip is today when the wind pushed a semi over the line into our lane as it passed us. Instead of avoiding the semi by moving slightly into the breakdown lane (what my Tesla has done), it went into full freakout mode and did what we are now calling a “Jesus take...
  10. Universal hands free UHF faults

Wish I could say the same. I’m starting to nail down where it disengages. Went through some tight curves with construction on I-70 from Vail to Denver, probably a little too fast (even though other traffic was going faster). Midway on a right hand curve it disengaged with warnings, sending me...
  11. Story: Introducing Rivian Assistant & Rivian Unified Intelligence. Unlock hands-free utility with Connect+

So far the vaulted ssistant has been unable to sneer a single question about the car. It’s one response to anything is “see the users manual”. I even asked for the current altitude as we’re we’re going over mountains. No clue. Switched back to Alexa, who can at least put things on my...
  12. Rivian R1S rear 12v shuts off after few hours with bougerv fridge

Different problem here. Using 120v for the bougeRV fridge freezer, because I don’t have a long enough12v extension cord. 120v shut off after a couple of days, and it won’t come back. Off and on, soft reset, hard reset, nothing. The fridge has a very low draw so I never exceeded the 1500w...
  13. Universal hands free UHF faults

Same here. Worked for several hours then stopped. Once I got the critical warning with bells. What I believe is triggering this (software) crash: each time I lost the UHF, it was right after I took control, using the wheel (not brake or shift stick). I could tell the car didn’t like me doing...
  14. Rivian Assistant - Wish list

I thought my Apple calendar was automatically synched to my Google Calendar - no? When I occasionally look at the Google Calendar, it seems my appointments are all there
  15. Friend bought ModelY after keeping R1S for a day, and after learning about R2

We are in the same boat (or SUV). Our MY tells us we use FSD 98% of the time. Our R1S has some real advantages (not to mention a sane CEO, and a mission-driven company), but they need real autonomy, and it’s hard to allocate the resources given the cash burn and the bet-the-company focus on...
  16. Random Rivian Photos of the Day - Post Yours! 📸

No need - hard sand. But the Airstream started to dig in when I backed it up…
  17. What happens if I jam the seat?

Thanks, that’s the info I was looking for. And also thanks for doing your part to alleviate food insecurity!
  18. Cargo Tie-down changes in 2026 R1S Gen 2

I’ve got the anchors with no tracks in a 2026 duo. But I have to agree on the flooring cover - el cheapo. It’s a dog hair magnet, hard to clean. I got a full set of Canvasback covers immediately, but the carpet is so thin it won’t adhere to their Velcro, so they have to supply stick-on Velcro...
  19. What happens if I jam the seat?

About to head on a trip and thinking of putting a large cooler behind the drivers seat on the floor. What happens if “easy entry” pushes the seat so far back that the cooler jams it? Will something break or will it just stop when it encounters a barrier?
