Might be more common with R1S owners, not T's. Especially if one doesn't need that third row/space.

Rivian gave me one when I picked up my 26 r1t and I believe they're for sale in the gear shop.

Other than data gathering, I don't believe lidar provides any other benefit (in addition to auto driving, as you put it). My gen 2 r1T (no lidar) will be capable of point to point driving (which i believe will be equivalent/similar to tesla fsd), at least according to Rivian.

If it's similar to the ocean coast on the R1's, I'd rather have the dark interior. Would prefer a different color altogether though like a blue (slate sky-?) or even brown.

I'm more interested in the standard RWD long range TBH.

Very interesting, and in line with speculation, I think. If Rivian offers me one early, I will likely get the LE. If not, I don't know which trim I'd go with, if any. Probably wait for R3.

In my opinion yes, the build quality and ride of my gen 2 is better than my gen 1 was. Though rivian had greatly improved my gen 1. Both quads, I should also mention (not sure if the dual or tri is any different).

Online configuration for R1 is back up. Looks like dark at 20s are gone for the quad, now only burnished bronze available. Might be other changes too. El cap still not available either.

Is this a gen 1? My first r1t (gen 1) had a very noisy suspension. Rivian replaced numerous parts including front subframe, half shafts and hubs, dampers, jounce lines. Which helped a lot, but never completely got rid of all noise or the slightly sloppy feel. However my new r1t (gen 2) is so...
