Not sure what Rivian software does under the hood but from the driver's perspective it's the normal regenerative braking. Either way it does control the descent really well.
I'm not sure that gauge is actually showing amount of regen, it may just be showing amount of braking power. Not exactly the same but relevant section from the owner's guide
(Standard Rivian falling over themselves to avoid giving us direct info / make things confusing)
LOTS of existing threads on bottle jacks. Use the forum search.
I don't think lowering the suspension would work since the suspension doesn't "hold up" the tire off the ground. You'll just have farther to jack. It's not recommended.
The issue is not just how high the jack goes, but the travel...
It should come with a safety information card for the seat back pocket. But at least for new riders in your R1 you should play them an instructional video.
It's funny to see this thread blow up with strong opinions. Mine aren't strong, but I don't really get where Rivian is coming from here. How many Rivians have been stolen, ever? Can't Rivian just track the location? Who is a thief going to sell it to, with it reported stolen? What is a thief...
Which part are you claiming is false? You seem to admit that Rivian uploads video data and that Rivian employees can access it. Certainly their AI is trained on video data; you think not?
I'm not saying employees currently do misuse this data, just that it is possible...
I come from backpacking so all the stuff I need for a week fits in about half the upper frunk. Of course for car camping we carry a lot more luxuries.
Example 2-3 day trip, 3 people and 2 dogs, we try to pack everything on the inside for range reasons. No bins, 3rd row up as you'll see.
Frunk...

Camp mode has two opposite settings, everything stay on and everything stay off. The use case of everything stay on is to keep the hvac on all night (since there is no power button, there is no other way to turn the Rivian on and keep it on).
Good post overall, but this part isn't really right. Rivians burn a lot of energy when they're on even without climate control. If you keep it in camp mode without climate control you'll probably lose 10%+ per day, which is unbelievably high for just keeping screens on, similar to my entire...
Stupid answer - you don’t! Even dumber, there’s no way to turn it on either. So if you have the doors open for a while because you're cleaning, camping, etc., the vehicle will randomly turn off on you after 10 minutes and the only way to turn it back on is to close and open a door. Music...
Our solar system doesn't seem to provide the full 11 kW to the car even when it's getting more sun than that. I'm not sure why, maybe it can only send so much power to the house and the rest has to go to the grid. Need to find out. Anyway I sometimes derate to 32A to avoid pulling from the grid...
