This will always be a problem no matter when or which model you buy. There will always be another generation, another advancement, another something, that will leave people jealous or wanting to upgrade to the latest model.
My initial thought after seeing this announcement was that the R2 will seem less cool if there are suddenly thousands of them being operated as robotaxis in my city.
I can only base it on the listed prices on the BMW UK site, along with configuring it to my liking with options and pricing. I can also only assume, as has been stated by several people previously, that pricing in the US is roughly equivalent to the listed prices in the UK.
From the BMW UK...
Probably not the case as I was a day one, minute one reservation holder, and I did go straight into my account and confirm I was definitely interested in the LE R2.
This will be a massive upgrade for Audi and one that is sorely needed. My wife's Q4 e-tron is a pile of hot garbage when it comes to infotainment/software. It's a 2023 model, so there may have been improvements in the last three years, but man I hate that vehicle. Can't wait to replace it with...
Is this for your normal every day driving? Or are you doing a lot of towing at freeway speeds in the mountains during winter?
This is completely at odds with the other guy's experience. I know people have different driving styles, city vs highway mixes, and climates, but damn... There are some...
This is the info I was looking for. I like the look of the 20” rims for the AT option on the performance trim and it’s the preferred size for me, but don’t want to lose the range with AT tires. I was hoping the AS tires on the 20” AT rims would still produce the 330 mile range.
I don't doubt or discount your experiences as R1 owners. However, I don't think it's fair to equate the R2 launch with the R1 launch for a myriad of reasons.
All I'm saying is, the conversion rate is not likely to be all that high. Of the 100-200k reservations that Rivian took in from the...
Couldn't agree more. I've had my Mach e for about 4 years here in Las Vegas, and I have been pleasantly surprised by the lack of a need for additional tint or a sunshade on the roof glass.
If the R2 has similar protection on the roof glass, that would be great!
Here's another unsubstantiated AI generated answer that completely goes against a large conversion rate expectation.
My guess would be a conversion rate of 15-25% of the reservation holders. However, that also doesn't equate to all of those conversions being interested in the LE. As many have...
Wow… if your only options are esker silver or Launch green for the LE, that’s a bit of a letdown. And no white interior option at launch? I’m fine with the black interior and launch green on the LE, but also lame that the paint is a paid upgrade
That's not how I interpret what's included. To me, it means Launch Green is a free paint color option to go along with Esker Silver, but all other colors would be extra.
Adaptive cruise control has always been more than enough for me on road trips.
I think it’s great that Rivian and other manufacturers are working on this autonomous technology, and I can see the value in it for others, it’s just not something I’m interested in.
I hope most of you want to wait for the LiDAR version and pass on the LE. I couldn’t care less about UHF, ADAS, FSD, etc., and I want the LE R2 as soon as possible!
Well this was a fun couple of days. Not it’s back to waiting. Looking forward to getting the pricing of the various options, looking forward to a configurator, an ability to order, and the chance for a demo drive.
I would tend to agree, at least on the paint options and interior, as there is just less surface to cover. The wheels and tires option might be similar to an R1 though.
I have no idea how you would get to $70k on a LE that's $57,990 plus destination. Are you adding accessories, taxes, registration, fees, etc.? Without taxes and other fees, even choosing the most expensive paint, interior and wheels should still keep it under $70k.
I must be blind or just losing it, because I still can't find the 307 mile range figure on AT wheels and tires.
Also, when are we going to find out the costs of the options for paint, interior and wheels??
