The advisor wasn’t trying to sell me though, that’s the weird part and what threw me off even more. It wasn’t like they were trying to pitch me on anything. They were just answering questions.
For those of you who have owned or driven an R1S (or R1T) and have seen the R2 in person and sat in it, did you get a sense that there is wide gap in the quality of the materials and feel of the vehicles?
Background: I am a Day 1 reservation holder for the R2 and I have been excited and waiting...
I look at it the complete opposite way. Paying $60k for a car and not getting a charging unit included with it is a joke.
Imagine buying any appliance or an electronic device and it not coming with a power adapter or cord to power it. That’s asinine. For me, it’s not about the dollar amount...
If we take the OP at face value, it wasn't a random Rivian employee misspeaking out of panic. His post said that it was a call from the Regional Service Manager the week after the incident. Then he was contacted a second time by the vehicle replacement team the following day asking him to...
I disagree with the premise that this is just another accident. It's negligence on the part of the Rivian service center.
Even if it were the equivalent of just another accident, that is not the way a brand such as Rivian should be treating the incident. If they want to be an American, Luxury...
While I agree the chart cannot be taken as fact, the truth is Amazon has actually received billions in subsidies in the form of sales tax exemptions, property tax abatements, cash grants (that don't need to be paid back), and reduced cost land acquisitions. These are usually made at the state or...
Amazon has received $14.5 billion in subsidies.... Incredible. They have over $250 billion in retained earnings and their net income for 2025 was nearly $77.7 billion.
They should be disqualified from ever receiving another subsidy.
Other than the lane changing, what you're describing sounds like all you need is a lane keeping/centering feature and adaptive cruise control. Most vehicles (EV or otherwise) have these features standard.
What am I missing? Is standard adaptive cruise control behind a pay wall on Rivian...
While I don't think the tour is a bad idea, I do think it would be much better to get at least one R2 to each of the Spaces as soon as possible.
I'm heading to SoCal near the end of May and was hoping that one of the Spaces down there would have an R2 to at least look at in person at that...
Since the Premium trim comes standard with 20" all season tires, I don't understand why the Performance trim's option for the 20" wheels wouldn't include an option for the all season tire in addition to the option for the all-terrain tire.
The videos are good, but nothing can replace seeing them in person.
I'm in the camp of wishing they had options for Rivian Blue, Red Canyon or even El Cap Granite. And of course, Storm Blue! I might take any of these colors over the actual available options.
That's funny, because my take away was that he was actually very impressed with the iX3. He had some minor gripes about it, and didn't love the exterior design, but overall gave it a really positive review.
The interesting bit in his review was about the efficiency. His efficiency was quite bad...
