Unlike your other vehicles, the Rivian doesn't need oil changes, service sessions in the hundreds of dollars, smog checks, regular brake jobs, a laundry list of mechanical repairs - and nobody is going to steal your catalytic converter. (My last Audi was my biggest money pit.)

I sat in an EV9 GT-Line. I considered it before I bought the R1S. It checked some boxes like my Kia EV6 GT-L FE. Car Play, AM radio, sunroof that opens. Lack of ground clearance was the deal killer. Also the dealer ADM which brought it up to $78,000 - Rivian country.
They need the money to update satellite images. The view in my area is seven years old. This is the view from a shopping center that has been open for six years.

There are wires going to the fuse block that would just as susceptible as the ones leaving. There is more of a chance of device failure or overloading than damage to wiring hidden away.
The block may be preferable but it's access difficulty was the deal breaker for me.
I'm still trying to determine if Rivian is cell of satellite but the Garmin DriveSmart is a very reliable satellite based system with free lifetime updates. It can tether with your cell phone for traffic info as well.
