I just got back from Yellowstone NP. As per your map, the park is a wildlife preserve on top of a volcano and a DC charging desert! Except for some very unused V2 stations in West Yellowstone. If Elon can send a roadster to Pluto, I would think he could configure an adapter for V2.

My disappointment is with the dozens of Tesla V2 Superchargers that are not available through Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming.... A couple V3 in Burney, ID. You are still stuck with L2 scheduling for a Yellowstone trip.

It would be an interesting addition. I've had a winch on a 1996 Discovery and a 2016 Overland diesel. Not absolutely necessary but it was good insurance a few occasions. My concern with the Rivian is that it would need a robust auxiliary 12 volt battery.

Technically, the plug side is "indoors". If it doesn't get wet, I wouldn't worry about the socket side.
