I tried a another app called Charge hub which I like. It shows some rates and gives links to Teslas website to get rates for each of the Tesla chargers. Tesla is interesting. Some do not allow Non Tesla's. Some have different rates in the off peak hours. Some seem to have a set rate. Some mark...
Since I am considering buying my first EV the R2. I was playing arround trying some rout planners. The Better rout planner really sucked in my opinion. It sid not even show a RAN charging station in Elensberg, Wa which I know exists. I also was trying to see the charging rate costs at the...
I disagree with those saying Locking differentials are not needed but in the most extreme off-roading experiences. In the winter when snow is on the ground you want all wheels to be driving the vehicle not just 2. You want as much traction as possible. I remember years ago trying to pull my...
Came across this video today. The mathematics is beyond my understanding but I found it quite interesting. I plan on getting some 18 inch forged wheels for the R2 if they fit. I bet the lower rolling resitance and lighter wheel will give me 10% more range hopefully.
The website is correct. The 20" wheel is the standard wheel for the Premium model. It is the square dot wheel, but it is not All terrain. You can see an overview of all the wheel options at 33 min into this video.
Those wheel sizes are great news. They are the about the same as the model y. This means it should be easy to find a big selection of aftermarket wheels that will fit.
I think I am a little surprised to see this poll so high in interest for the LE model. Especially sense I have seen so many people say they wanted to wait for the lidar. I also expected more people to be willing to wait for the more affordable models. I myself will be waiting for the more...
I think Rivian did a pretty competitive price when you compare the performance duel motor. But they did not do such a good job on pricing for the Premium duel motor. It is significantly higher then Tesla's premium AWD. I would not be so disappointed if the price was more like 51K or even 52K.
The AWD premium is the model for me. I do think the price it a little high considering Tesla's premium starts at 49K. I am also disappointed the premium does not include the adaptive suspension. I hope they have an option to add the adaptive suspension.
I agree. I personally don't see why they need a 12 volt battery when they can just use a inverter to change the voltage of the main battery to 12 volts. But I am not an electrician so assuming they need a 12 volt battery I do not see why they do not make one with the reliable Lithium cells they...
I just went back and watched the promotional videos and did not see a CD player unless Rivian is hiding it somewhere. Most of the time I listen to the radio bit I have a couple cd's that I pop in every now and then. I would think a cd player was standard in most vehicles.
I would not care about range being more than 315K, except I sometimes tow a camper and expect to lose like %50 of my range. Also the cold weather we get around here will hurt range. Also I plan to own this vehicle long term. After 10 years and I have a 25 percent battery degradation, that would...
BMW already raised the price in Europe. I can just imagine a much bigger markup in the US due to shipping and Tariffs. It will likely start closer to 70K.
There is a lot to like about that IX3. That fast charging and longer range and the screen across the bottom of the windshield and most likely better quality and reliability than the Rivian. But I believe the Rivian R2 will be more affordable and that ground clearance will come in really handy...
