I just got back from a 900 mile round trip where I towed another car with my 2026 R1T tri motor. Towed trailer and car was about 7000 lbs (per the truck). Drove from Chicago to Bowling Green, KY and back. Just used a ball hitch, did not use a WDH like Rivian recommends for trailers over 5000...
Just going to leave this here.
Wall Street Journal
Unfortunately you need a subscription to read the entire article. But there is enough there to get the gist. After years and years of broken promises, people who bought Tesla FSD have had enough and are suing.
A good lesson for Rivian to be...
I intend to do some long distance towing of a car with a U-Haul auto transporter in a month. This will be my first long distance tow and I've been doing my homework by reading various manuals. The thing that got me confused is the following. Rivian says you must use a weight distribution...
I have a question for those of you who don't charge at home. Given the current spiking gas costs, are you guys seeing any kind of price changes in the EV charging stations? I am curious. Currently I only charge at home so I have no idea what's going on out there. All I know is it is more...
I was curious if Rivian has published torque curves for their motors? I was not able to find anything in an internet search.
It's my understanding that electric motors start to spin at max torque and as the rpm goes up, the torque linearly decreases with increasing rpm. I understand Rivian...
I picked up my new R1T last weekend. It comes with 2 months free Autonomy+. Yesterday I had an opportunity to do a short trip, so I took advantage to try it out. As most of you know, it's a very fancy cruise control. You activate it by pulling the right stalk towards you twice. It will then...
The other day I was reading a thread about a guy who left his Rivian at the airport in a low state of charge. He couldn't hook it up to a charger because they were all taken. Thought it would be OK, but seems like it will completely drain before he gets back. Can't find that thread again so...
Random thought but can you do a burnout in a Rivian? I know they have more than enough HP/torque to do so but can you disable the traction control so you can do it?
Now that I have committed to getting a R1T, I am starting the next item on the agenda. Getting and installing a home charger. I'm going to share my plan and those who have gone through this already can let me know if I'm way off base on something.
I've looked around and I will get the...
Went for a test drive and decided to plop down my $500 to start the process to get a R1T tri motor. Getting it in borealis. So psyched.
I was pretty impressed by the test drive. Drove a dual and I was pretty impressed by it's power given the truck's weight. Can't imagine what the tri will...
I am looking to purchase/lease a Rivian R1T. I was curious to see if anybody fixes their Rivian themselves after the warranty runs out and your experiences on doing so. Now I'm not talking about monkeying with the big battery but things like brakes and suspension. I am aware that Rivian...
