  1. 30 amp campground charging question

Well, I am actually thinking about physical interference. The link went to an adapter with the male 30A plug pointing the same direction as the cable from the 14-50 plug would run... off the ground pin. I haven't physically tried this device, but if you plug it into a wall or box outlet...
  2. 30 amp campground charging question

Wouldn't this adapter cause interference between the portable 14-50 pigtail coming off the ground pin side and the 30amp receptical?
  3. Is preconditioning before DCFC really worth it?

I can’t speak to pre-conditioning from a cold temp, nor about energy savings, so this may not be relevant to you. When traveling in warmer weather, however, there is a huge savings of time when DCFCing by cooling the battery prior to charging. When on a road trip, I don’t want to extend...
  4. R2 spotted at Super Bowl (video)

I see a strap on the driver door handle. I guess that makes it easier to open if handles fail to present properly.
  5. Check your home electrical connections, friends

Based on personal observation, a proper torque wrench is necessary. I used to work on engines and could get very close by feel, when checked with a torque wrench. For fun, I habd torqued my breakers and outlet on install and then with a wrench. I was way under. Bottom line, it’s worth the price...
  6. Libby App (via Bluetooth) on iPhone is šŸ’©

I have no problems using Libby. (ā€˜22 T LE) It may not be the app causing problems. Keep us posted on your findings!
  7. Rivian Announces East Coast Rivian HQ to Open in Atlanta!

The SC in Duncan, SC would be closer, until the CLT one opens.
  8. side mirror auto-tilting cycles

My wife’s 2002 VW Passat had this feature. She loved and drove that car for 19 years and never had an issue with the mirrors.
  9. Is the 12V battery issue really a issue?

I’ve had my T since May of ā€˜22. VIN 49xx. Still have the original double 12v batteries and no issues yet. I am likely due soon, but almost 3 years isn’t a bad run. I may just be lucky, but I do follow the ABC philosophy when possible (Always be charging) and keep it plugged in when home.
  10. 20" tires and wheels -- "quiet" all-season touring tire recommendations ?

I’ve had the 20ā€ Michelin Defender LTX Platinum in the OEM tire size on my R1 for over 25k miles. It is a great option. My efficiency is higher than the OEM tire, it rides like a dream and is quiet. I live in the Southeast, so I only expect to see snow couple of times a year in the mountains...
  11. New York New/Unused AirCruiser by Cinch RTT

I suggest that no one buy it unless the posting follows the well defined and understood rules. Don't be lazy if you really want to sell it. Just take another photo, like you did for the others. No reason to be childish in your reply either. That attitude makes one less trustworthy.
  12. New York New/Unused AirCruiser by Cinch RTT

Dude, rules is rules. I don't make them. i also don't know you or your posts. My first impression is that you can't read the rules or are trying to skirt them. Sorry, but that is what we see. It's really not that hard to take another pic. I'm sure that you know you're an honest and upstanding...
  13. Which of these things is not like the other (NACS to CCS) adapters

The Rivian supplied adapter is the same as the one in the Tesla Magic Docks.... or, at least they look and feel the same to me.
  14. Where are you getting your Wheel Alignment done at?

Discount Tire only does tires and wheels, at least what I can see at my local shop and online. They do not do alignments. Unlike a traditional truck, the suspension geometry varies based on ride height. I have read that the alignment is set at the factory using the All-Purpose mode at Standard...
  15. Outside temperature fiction

There can be large differences between air temp and road temp. Also, the sensors used in passenger vehicles are notoriously inaccurate. The best product out there uses IR to determine road temp and a highly precise and accurate air temperature sensor. It is used by commercial vehicles...
  16. "Charger not plugged in" notification every time I unplug my R1S

Just an FYI... It is not recommended to stop charging using the method you describe. (pressing the disconnect lever on the charging handle). I think this is called a "hot disconnect" as you are relying on a safety switch in the charging handle to disconnect the charge. This works for awhile but...
  17. NACS Adapter - still waiting...

Could be true if they were made in China and in a container on a ship to arrive soon. Very plausible.
  18. NACS Adapter - still waiting...

There must be a container full coming from China for that to be true. I can believe it.
  19. NACS Adapter - still waiting...

I took delivery in May of 2022, vin 49xx and no adapter shipping email as of today.
