100% - there are many, many owners of R1s who have solar and who do not have enough battery power to get through the night off the grid. In sunny places like where I live, it would cut my electric bill substantially if I could work off my battery when power is most expensive and when solar isn't...
I have noticed differences not only in proximity unlock, but also in the use of my iPhone as a key when I am in the vehicle.
About 20%-25% of the time, my R1S will not recognize my iPhone 17 Pro Max as a key, and I have to stop and restart Bluetooth for it to work. Anyone else seeing this behavior?
I haven't reserved one yet, but I would in a second if my wife was interested in one. I love my R1S.
My ownership experience could be better; my Rivian could have helped our new venture get funded. I will have to settle for just a great EV experience with only a handful of new car company...
You should sell your car and buy a Model Y. They are much better service-wise ;-).
You won’t find this satisfying, but it is normal for people to make mistakes, Shrek.
In contrast to the OPs experience, mine has been excellent with a sub 3600 vin R1S, it has gone in for service for two minor issues, otherwise it has been remarkably reliable.
In comparison, I have had a Ford Bronco and a Plymouth Voyager mini van where both gave me nightmare car experiences in...
Mine still does this, when I press the button to close the frunk, it almost closes, then springs open again. It closes when I close it manually, which is what I do, since that is how I've been closing my hood for 40+ years. :-) I do want it to work, but it will have to wait until I have a...
The longer I think about this, the more I am good with my current investment in my R1S. The cameras I have work better than my previous ICE Grand Cherokee, which didn't have any self-driving features and only a backup camera. In any event, it is damn likely that this car will age out before they...
I am a Rober fan as well; he makes science accessible for lots of kids.
And I don't necessarily find it stupid to see how these vehicles' sensors behave using a painted wall as stimuli. And it was my kids who told me about Mark Rober. The glitter bombs are pure gold IMHO.
My bet is that anything that disintermediates a revenue generating service like Connect+ is not going to get a green light to be integrated so tightly, but I am not the developer.
