Yes, this is the interesting question. Will google maps still work with a first-gen R1 15 years from now? If so will it still get map updates? I do think there are going to be costs associated with keeping all these things working together in a cohesive manner that are difficult to predict...
I believe there is plenty of untapped potential in the e-trailer market. Specifically, I'd like to see some smaller & less expensive models. I don't need or want the size of the AE.1. For example, an assisted Basecamp (or a little larger) would absolutely get my attention.
So I think there...
I just ordered the Parkworld, and found it an extremely tight fit with the Rivian portable charger that came with my 2025 R1T. They went together with a reasonable amount of force, but it took almost all my strength to get them apart. Probably would not have been able to do it with cold hands...
Personally, I'd do the opposite. 22s for daily drivers/normal road trips. 21s (or better yet: 20s if you can find somebody to swap with) for the all-terrains. The taller sidewalls will help with ride quality over washboard roads, etc.
Great to hear you are running them again - that is the highest praise. I had them on my Jeep GC & ran them on some of the same trails as you (I live in the front range). The LTs were a little stiff on that vehicle but they sounds great on the Rivian.
One question, to be clear. Did you...
I had the Baja Boss on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (still on the OEM tires on my '25 R1T) and I really liked them. I had the LT sidewall construction. They were great on the road (good turn-in and freeway manners), didn't get too loud, and, as you know, they looked the part. Off-road...
This was a very interesting thread that I'm resurrecting from 1+ years ago.
First, thanks to all who contributed - I learned a lot. I really like the idea of hitch mounted winch, although at this point in my life I'm a little reluctant to wrestle with a 70 lb winch when it comes time to mount...
Thanks folks. Right now I'm between the Dometic and the Air Cruiser. Given that the Dometic is currently available for $1500 (I think it's being discontinued amongst the Dometic re-org) it's a really tough choice. About the only thing holding me back from the Dometic is that the tri-fold...
Hey! Going to resurface this older thread.
First, thanks for the post! One question I have on the Dometic is: Can you unzip the mesh panels, to give an obstruction-free view? I'm a photographer and I LOVE the idea of using a RTT as an observation platform, and the Dometic "windows" are huge...
This is exactly how I feel. For me, Autonomy+ will add a significant amount of value to my R1T. That is, assuming it works well. Which we will be able ascertain given the eval period.
But then, when I bought my Rivan, it was for road trips and fun. I want to take it all over the West over...
Yes, I noticed that as well. But, with those conditions, I do wonder if a set of MT Baja Boss ATs would be even better. If nothing else it could throw some amazing rooster-tails!
I LOVE the look on the driver's face starting at about 6:45. The passenger is trying to make some point or another, but the driver is completely ignoring him because he's having an absolute blast piloting the beast up the snow covered trail. Best advertising Rivian could hope for, IMO.
Last night, under the dark skies of the Pawnee National Grasslands in Colorado & the Northern Lights. It was quite a show. Hopefully tonight will be even better.
Thanks for the review & follow-up on these. I just took delivery of a 3-year lease; considering dismounting the OEM Pirellis & putting them aside for the lease return, and mounting up a set of these Yoks for actual use. These seem about perfect for me - light to moderate off-roading in...
Thanks for the write-up and the thoughts on weight. I'm in the process of deciding which way to go on my R1T myself.
I've been thinking that if I don't get a camper, I'd get a RTT, a set of crossbars, a tonneau cover, and some kind of sliding bed arrangement. Not sure I could make all that...
