Yes, reduced stability mode will decrease range. Snow mode will decrease range even more. I don't use either mode on a road trip. Around town, it doesn't matter.
Replicating it is probably not related the outside cold temperature and probably more related to whether the car goes to sleep. Let it sit unplugged, gear guard off, do not load your phone app, etc etc for at least 1 hour. Maybe you already did this, but I say this because sometimes these type...
It's not even really the speed of update. When road tripping, one has set their intended fast charging stop 30 to 120 minutes out. EA has no way to know what traffic is inbound to their sight. It could be 4 of 4 available, but if 6 cars are going to arrive in the next 15 minutes at nearly the...
Yeah, I'm sure there is a delay. They should add a healthy handicap to it, IMO. Of course, the main problem is as you and I noted previously, that nearly all fast charger brands/locations outside of Tesla simply do not have anywhere near enough stalls. The small stall count is looney given the...
I actually tried this today out of curiosity. Tried stopping at the EA at IKEA in Columbus (if it didn't work the Supercharger is 5 min away). EA app and Google Maps showed 1 of 6 available. When I got there, they were all full and charging. I checked the app and Maps again and it still showed 1...
I road trip quite a bit around Michigan, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York, and down to Florida and back. I recommend avoiding EVGo. In most cases there are few stalls resulting in a much higher likelihood of them being occupied. Additionally, many of the sites only have...
I really appreciate your idea and mentioning this. I did leave that step off my list. I tried it again to be sure, but unfortunately the vehicle will not pair any phone now (as key) (I've tried multiple phones). It gets stuck at this step and if it's not clear in the picture, the Set Up button...
This recently happened to me. Rivian wanted to schedule mobile service that was 2 or 3 weeks out, but luckily there is a service center in my city nearby and I opted to bring it there making an appointment 3 days out. I have the Dual Motor. On the end of the 2nd day, when engaging and...
The rear motor engagement can also become very jolting when there is a 12V battery about to die. This just happened to me. Luckily, my 12V battery alarm came on and I was able to have it replaced within ~ 3 days. During that 3 day period, the rear motor engagement became very jolting along with...
Well, ABRP is Rivian. Rivian owns it. I guess you could think of it as how Rivian chooses to let those more in tune to engineering details like yourself get at it.
This fixed it for me too. I have a Gen1 R1S delivered March, 2024 and it does not have the B duct that many have. Whatever duct is in mind is well secured and doesn't make noise. However, those tabs sure were making noise! Ridiculous really.
This fix eliminated all my rattling. Thanks!
Correct, not all Tesla Superchargers are open to others. As a quick general answer, it's typically the older / smaller Superchargers that are not open to non-Tesla's.
If you look at Supercharger locations on Rivian's website, you'll only see compatible ones. If you look on Tesla's website (or...
What... are you even arguing? All I offered was explaining how Pet Mode is different than leaving the climate on. And, then the factual history.
You could have just Google'd it:
Could a printed sign be an alternative and arguably more effective? Sure! Go for it! You might need 4 signs...
Oh yes! Haha. It was not a feature that was introduced ahead of time. It was rolled out by Tesla in response to many incidents of bystanders doing just that and Tesla owners having their vehicles damaged and the police called for that reason.
You are right regarding the climate, but the purpose of Pet Mode is for bystanders who see the animal inside, think it's trapped and in danger, and break into the car trying to save it. This is why Pet Mode exists so that there is a message on the screen for bystanders to know.
Doug DeMuro basically gave it a "meh" for ride quality and quietness. But, I feel like that's a challenge for all EV's b/c the silence of the drivetrain makes us perceive the external noises more. Still... if Cadillac can't get it quiet... who can? Maybe the new Ranger Rover EV?
Crumple zone on nearly ALL vehicles is much more in the vehicle front than the rear. There are various reasons for this including but not limited to 3rd passenger seating, gas tank location, vehicle design (would anyone buy a SUV with a full size sedan-like trunk just for the crumple zone?), and...
