I have the same noise (rolling marble) in my R1S Gen 2 and have been trying to track it down. Is your R1 Gen 1 or 2? Also, are there any particular instructions you followed to get the panel off?
I recently got a Thule Approach L and set it up on my R1S. It (just) fits alongside a Yakima Roadshower (10 Gallon size). So far, I've just messed around with it in my driveway, but I'm planning to test it out on a short trip soon. If there's interest, I'll share more pictures later.
Recently I noticed Gear Guard Motion Cam has stopped working properly on my Gen 2 R1S. Events still get “captured”, but the video thumbnails all just show up as “Video error” and are unplayable.
Motion Cam uses internal storage, so this has nothing to do with external SSD/SD card storage...
I’ve used that Kal Tire location several times with no issues, most recently with my R1S but also with my Tesla before that. I brought my Jack Pucks and put them in a visible location in the front of the car, and they used them with no issues.
Sorry you had a bad experience — I don’t think it’s...
Well this has been an entertaining thread :-)
Long term, I think UWB will fix this (anyone know when that’s coming?), but for now I got my wife a key fob, which fits in jeans front pockets, and seems to work better.
My gen 2 R1S (Large battery) is currently sitting at airport parking and is losing a little over 2% per day, which isn’t great. Gear Guard was enabled when I walked away; I tried disabling it via the app, but I’m not sure if the setting is sticking.
Any tips?
I got that too. Sit in the car for five minutes, with the fob on the center console (same place you would put a key card). It eventually connected for me, hope it works for you too.
Just to add a data point here, I have a Gen2 R1S with Large battery, and a Tesla Wall Charger (@32 A, so about 7.4KW) with J1772 adapter. I hadn't previously charged past 75% or so, but when I tried today, I noticed charge slowed around 80% SOC down to ~4.5 kW. It then slightly recovered to 5.0...
I heard back from Service: apparently there is a maximum of 4 NFC keys. This includes both key cards and also fobs, since the fobs use a combo of NFC and Bluetooth (phones don’t count against the total). This is why I was unable to pair my fob until I deactivated a key card. No workaround...
I have something similar. I have four key cards, which all show up in the app and work correctly to unlock or start the car, but only two show up in vehicle settings, and the car ignores signing them to different profiles. I tried deactivating one (per another thread on how to get the key fob to...
What Norivian said also worked for me:
I had 4 key cards paired (+ 3 phones). All 4 key cards worked correctly and showed up in the App, though only 2 showed up in the vehicle settings.
I tried many times, and couldn't get the key fob to pair correctly. It would show as paired in the app, but...
We have a Gen2 R1S running 2024.51.31. My wife and I both have iPhone 15 Pros, running the latest iOS. PaaK works very well for me, and poorly for her. A big part of this seems to be that she carries her phone in her back pocket vs I carry mine in my front pocket (women’s jeans typically have...
