  1. I bought a $14,000 Rivian R2..........

OP would be better off investing in Vanguard Total Stock Market, say $30,000. In about 6 to 7 years he could then buy an R2.
  2. IONNA Experience

It's very dependent on location, and sometimes time of day (Tesla has some locations with low time of day pricing). So, if I'm on a trip, and ONE of the stops could be IONNA, but I'm charging a lot more times, and NONE of those stops can be IONNA (because they're not around those locations)...
  3. IONNA Experience

They are not cheaper than Tesla WITH A MEMBERSHIP discount. If you're going on a trip, the membership discount combined with the lower prices, will often be the lowest cost option.
  4. You've Owned An EV For A While Now. How Have Your Charging Habits Changed?

Best practice is ABC - Always Be Charging. Unless the cord is not within reach, plug in nightly and charge to the manufacturer recommended limit.
  5. 2026 R1S deposit made. Reliability feedback?

I think you have things backwards.... Before paying a non-refundable $500 deposit, you ask on a forum AND do the test drive... We test drove one on Saturday and ultimately decided that an R1S doesn't fit our current needs. Put a refundable $100 deposit on an R2, figuring we won't get an offer...
  6. Countering cold, winter weather effects for those living in the northern states.

I have both a Mach-E and a Lightning, which of course has more ground clearance than the Mach-E. The Lightning has a bigger heater, neither has a heat pump. After I charge each at a fast charger in the winter, the Mach-E loses battery temperature much faster than the Lightning, even though the...
  7. Would you pay $495 for your frunk? Mach-E buyers will have to

Ford hasn't said anything, but speculation is that after the new platform EV pickup truck comes out, the next vehicle will be a similar to Mach-E size and the Mach-E at that point will by 7 years old.
  8. Would you pay $495 for your frunk? Mach-E buyers will have to

I expect shipping on a big bulky tub, combined with the likelihood that the Mach-E only has at most 2 more model years, means this won't happen.
  9. Would you pay $495 for your frunk? Mach-E buyers will have to

I own both a Mach-E and a Lightning. Lightning has an exterior frunk button. Mach-E does not. Lightning standard fob has a frunk button. Mach-E does not (although you can buy a Lightning fob and program it just fine). Lightning frunk is huge, bigger than the R1S, and holds a lot. Mach-E...
  10. Would you pay $495 for your frunk? Mach-E buyers will have to

Must be ordered from the factory.
  11. R1 Gen 3 - Wish list

Bet you a beer that a huge percentage of Rivian owners came from Tesla. I would probably adapt fine to 1 pedal. My wife doesn't like it. Nor did she like it when I drove with it, so I turned it off. Well, there aren't a lot when I eliminate GM, Stellantis, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, ...
  12. DIY Tire Rotation?

    Discount Tire rotates for free...
  13. Surely a Charger this BIG is L3

They were turned off end of January. Well, PlugShare differs. https://www.plugshare.com/location/471563 - 2/2/26 says not listed in network https://www.plugshare.com/location/420088 - 2/12 all permanently closed You get the idea. I don't think you will find a check-in after 1/31/26.
  14. Would you pay $495 for your frunk? Mach-E buyers will have to

Net, not new... I said they never promote net pricing, which was mentioned earlier. Frunk is $495, but price of car went down, so net is $385. Never happened from a promotional standpoint. They also don't promote "our 2026 Mach-E is cheaper than our 2025".
  15. Surely a Charger this BIG is L3

Few people that own an EV are tight on money though. Lots of people that got 2 years free charging with their EV would rather charge publicly, to 100%, than at home. Luckily a lot of those free deals are now expiring. I was at an EA charger on a trip, and it was running slow. Old guy at 87%...
  16. Surely a Charger this BIG is L3

The business model for the Volta level 2 chargers was selling ads to pay for the free charging. It failed. Shell bought them after they failed, and found the equipment in such disrepair and the business model so bad, they just shut it down. They were going to dismantle it, but apparently some...
  17. Would you pay $495 for your frunk? Mach-E buyers will have to

First, Ford is not promoting any net price, they never do that. In fact, they aren't even mentioning the removal of the frunk as feature, and that you have to order it separately. Some dealers are going to have frunkless vehicles and customers won't open the frunk until they bought it, and...
