  1. Demo Rivians Now for Sale

Yes this is an interesting development. @DonkeyKong when are you picking up? This whole process is going much slower than I expected. I was hoping to be in Atlanta checking out the R2/R3 while picking up my R1S but I guess the earliest will be mid/late next week.
  2. Demo Rivians Now for Sale

I was told no POS rebate on the demo. I did get the $3750 rebate on my previous 23 and Rivian provided the IRS (and me) tax docs so I feel Rivian are pretty organized and thorough.
  3. Tesla FSD Full Self Driving & Rivian ?

Yeah not really. The current ML tech is all just a LLM. Call me unimpressed for using that for FSD where the car ends up reacting to situations rather than deep planning. I want AI to self drive our cars but the two schools of AI - neural nets (deep learning) and knowledge rep (building...
  4. Tesla FSD Full Self Driving & Rivian ?

I feel the opposite. Rivian forums are the most Tesla-friendly forums compared to other EV forums. Go to VW or BMW i4 forums and they despise everything Tesla. Many of us have owned multiple Teslas (5 in my case) and we know the Tesla ecosystem and software pretty well. The Rivian system is...
  5. Tesla FSD Full Self Driving & Rivian ?

Stellantis. Jeep makes the worst ADAS. Toyota's Safety Sense isn't great either but 3.0 supposedly is solid. BlueCruise is vastly better than Tesla's AP.
  6. Tesla FSD Full Self Driving & Rivian ?

No thanks Tesla AP and FSD - which are terrible and disengage too often. I dislike Driver+ also (for the same disengagement reasons) and think Rivian should license out HDA or BlueCruise.
  7. Demo Rivians Now for Sale

Found an R1S demo - QM with 20" and underbody shield (what I wanted in my first R1S). I'm unsure about pulling the trigger or waiting for a refresh and leasing one of those. How quickly did the process happen for everyone? I'd like to pick it up by Saturday. My first purchase was quick but...
  8. Rivian's infinite R1T Max Pack Inventory

It took almost 2 years before the $30K+ markups for the Hummer EV disappeared. Chevy/GM can't produce non-Bolt EVs at scale and you will have the take it up the butt to buy one from a dealer.
  9. Volvo EX90 pricing and features info

I was told summer of 2024 is when they should arrive and pricing has not changed (I was expecting maybe a cut since P3 was recently cut). I'm torn about the 3rd row. EX90 is both bigger and smaller than I expected. I was hoping it would be on the larger side (interior-wise) of a 3-row SUV.
  10. This is why I no longer use the Rivian for Long Distance trips.

R1T/R1S biggest issue is the combination of poor efficiency (2.1 mi/kWh) and slow 400V charging. I hated road tripping with my former R1S... charging stops were 40+ mins. I'd charge a whole lot less if the R1S had 3.0 mi/kWh efficiency which I don't think is possible. Even 2.5 mi/kWh would...
  11. See the R2 @ Electrify Expo Orlando today 3/17 from 10am-5pm

R2 is much shorter visually than the R1S. It's low like every other compact SUV. More frunk photos
  12. See the R2 @ Electrify Expo Orlando today 3/17 from 10am-5pm

I tried to take photos of unusual stuff since everybody has seen the regular bits. The frunk is NOT powered. The new button is some touch/haptic thing (see three rectangle shapes in the middle - stacked vertically)
  13. R2 Preview Invite in Austin

Is this R2 traveling across the country? An R2 is supposed to be on display in Orlando this Sunday (17th) as part of the Electrify Expo.
  14. Demo Rivians Now for Sale

The demo units can't be leased either. I was just called about the T I reserved. I will probably pass.
  15. R2 Price, Specs, Dimensions leaked!! $47500, 0-60 3 sec, 330 miles range

It's more of a new Land Cruiser alternative. I do think the trims will trade range for 0-60 speed.
  16. 67% residual for 36 month / 15,000 mile R1S Quad Motor Lease. Final numbers included in thread.

That's Carvana for you. You can sell the R1S instantly at $80K I suspect. I had half-dozen offers at $80K Many of us are not eligible for the EV tax credit which is why I would prefer to lease.
  17. Anyone sold their Rivian?

Rivian service was excellent. Today, buying any new car is just as risky as buying a Rivian. Depreciation is back to normal. Oversupply seems to be common. QC is still iffy on new cars/models across the board.
  18. Experience shopping for an EV9 vs R1S - Update

No brainer. With the inflated trade in and the Colorado $5K tax credit... I'd go with the EV9. OTOH, I suspect depreciation will be worse with the EV9 as noted with the EV6 (around 50% in less than 2 years). I loved my Telluride but the Kia brand does not hold resale value. Then again.. who...
  19. Anyone sold their Rivian?

I have. Wasn't happy with ride quality, wind noise, and 400V charging speeds. If the R1S was $65K I would not have mind but not at $85K (which I sold it at). I moved onto a Bronco which suits me better for weekend use and I daily a Mach-E which is better suited for urban traffic. R1S was...
  20. What was your trade-in experience?

It will hurt. Audi and MB threw $20K of incentives on top of the EV lease tax credit in 2023. I looked at an EQS in mid 2023 that was $108K new but selling for $70K with 2K miles. A co-worker snagged a great deal on a lease too. You can't really exit the leases because the...
