What an overreaction! So far the updates have only had a handful of improvements that only apply to Gen 2. Did you expect Rivian to sit back and do nothing to improve the experience as they release new generations of their vehicles. Abandonware come on!

The crossbars are excellent for securing long items that won’t fit in the bed without the tailgate open. If you make any trips to Home Depot you will definitely use them. Plus they look good even when you aren’t using them. Keep them!

That’s a 14-50 outlet. The portable charger that came with your Rivian will connect directly to it.

Keep in mind that the 12v batteries that came with my R1T only have a 3 year 36K warranty and I’m told would be almost $800 to replace them. Given that Rivian is proactively replacing them perhaps they would do so free of charge.
