Received an email this afternoon from my guide letting me know that the Sr. Director of the Customer Engagement Center would like to meet for lunch. I was encouraged to ask him any questions in regards to the delivery process or anything else of interest.

That being said, I have a million questions to ask but figured I would throw it out to this group for anything along those lines that you would like asked (can promise what will actually get answered). He is supposed to be reaching out to set up a date/time/location but hoping to hear from him and lock that down ASAP.

Beyond the technical details most of us are generally curious about, I think my general question would be why they seem to be so intent on not sharing details about the vehicles themselves this close to release.

If you can twist that to be less blunt, that'd be great. ?

Definitely on my list. And to be honest may be the reason I was reached out to as I have had a few conversations with my Guide along those lines.

Thanks. I'm a sucker for the branding, but the lack of details is obviously concerning to some people (hence the angst around here) and just annoying to those of us who are likely to be their ambassadors and are "nerdy" about the car in some way.

Obviously preaching to the choir here.

Have definitely had my frustrated moments along this journey...but the angst of some on here is next level.

Yeah... I've ignored more people on here than I have all other websites other than FB combined.

Annoying is a good way to put it...

I would like to know the reasoning behind how the guides are reaching out. You stated the conversations you have been having with your guide some of us early res holders still haven't even been contacted. Even if I heard it right ducktruck met his guide at the test drive event?

This situation is pretty easy to address. Rivian has all the contact info for the early pre-orders who would get their vehicles first. Reach out and give an update, even if its a place holder date like "by December 2021". Assuming there are too many pre-orders to reasonably be built and delivered by December do it in waves. Wave 1 is by December. Wave 2 is the end of Q1 2022, and so on. Guides contact Wave 1 confirming all the details necessary to take delivery but nothing is finalized until X amount of time prior to vehicles shipping. That way any of the housekeeping on the customer side (selling a vehicle, getting a loan) can be planned without having to rush at the last minute.

I'm a recent pre-order and the Max Pack at that so I don't really expect to hear anything until well into 2022. But for those who are potentially getting vehicles within the next 90 days I can understand the disappointment.

I have so many, but I’ll try and keep it concise.

-It’s been one month since RJ promised better communication and more frequent production updates…yet we’ve heard absolutely nothing. Why?

-Guides had told several people to expect loads of info and weekly emails starting in late June, yet here it is mid-August, and still nothing. Why?

-Its clear that the online color renderings on several of the colors are completely different than they are in person, yet they’ve made zero updates to reflect that on their website and configurator. Why?

-There are loads of photos on the website that are out of date, old prototypes, etc. that don’t reflect the actual vehicle being delivered. Why?

-WHY are they continuing to hold so many details, so many important features, such critical information secret when it’s clearly frustrating many pre-order holders, fans, and evangelists for their company?

Are they still on schedule to start pre-order tours/test-drives in September? Will pre-registrations be required to attend tours and take test drives?

According to my Guide, who I spoke with again yesterday, they are still on track. But, as we have all come to realize, Guides are held to the same communication policy ss CS... wait until the very last possible minute to announce changes.

- lower priority question...but, what about the Rivian 'store' we've heard about 'coming soon' in the past...wouldn't mind buying some official swag.

Do they intend to keep asking for $1000 for preorders with no delivery date of any solidity in sight or will they follow the industry and move to $500 or even $100. like the Ford MachE or F150/Cybertruck/Tesla

Are there any states they will not be delivering in?

When will press including popular Youtube channels be able to do their thing with the vehicle(s)? You've got traditional EV places like Bjorn who does that 1000KM test in the cold of the nordics, you have Out of Spec Motoring and his cannonballing road trips, TFL and their mountain climb range test. Those are a short list, but you have the others but those three are the most 'real world' vs sitting in the cabin and talking.

When will we get a walk through video of the infotainment systems. Show me why you didn't support carplay/android auto and prove its value (i'm gonna say up front, they never will to me, they should just support it)

When will we get an idea of what the assisted driving features are. I personally don't need full self driving but solid adaptive/lanecentering for the boring part of the trips would be interesting to understand what/when is available.

Didn't want to write a wall of text, but those are my big ones.
