I've noticed that for a decent stretch now the only motor options available in inventory for 2024 R1Ts have been dual motor, non-performance. And honestly, pretty limited in general, as far as all other options go. I understand inventory is region specific but I was wondering if this is a product of 2024 inventory levels dropping as they switch to 2025 or just simply local inventory limitations at the moment. I'm interested in pulling the trigger on a 2024 and it would be helpful to know if this is the best it's going to be for the 2024s or simply a turnover issue.

Thanks everyone!

I don't think they have built any new 2025 R1Ts for shop inventory, at least I haven't seen one. Nor have I seen any folks taking delivery of them.

I think what you see is just what is left of the 2024 inventory, my inventory isn't much different then that.

2024 inventory has dwindled, especially since they started doing free PPF and F&F discounts on some of the configurations. You're looking at the bottom of the barrel now, which leads me to believe that Gen 2 builds are going to start showing up in the shop sooner than September. That's just a guess, though.

I would have thought maybe the quads would be gone but it's interesting there are no dual performance versions left. Although, maybe the dual, non-performance versions just don't sell well.

Have you tried talking to someone in sales about finding what you want?

Since the PDM and the DM are just software differences maybe there is something they can do.

I was told by a Rivian rep that a non-Performance build can't be turned into Performance at this time. As we've been told before, they intend to make that possible in the future and apparently it may be an upfront purchase or a monthly subscription.

Buy dual motor, twiddle thumbs until Rivian allows you to upgrade it to the performance version.

I assume anything outside my zip that doesn't show up on my list, even though I see them elsewhere, is not able to be ordered?
I'm not sure, if you see something in another zip you could always try to get it. Of course if it's really far from you it may not be possible.

My thoughts is that if Rivian is motivated enough to move them they should try to work with you.

My guess is those that wanted the performance of the quad motor. Realize that with Gen 2 to get the 800 plus horsepower, they're going to start at six figures and so all the gen 1 quad motors got gobbled up pretty quickly.

In the Rivian shop, put the zip code of the vehicle listed in the rivianroamer site. It should show if available then reserve it. Worst case you have to go get it.

Also, the demo quads with no miles are killer deals. If you want a quad, buy one of those.
