2024 R1T Vin mismatch to battery

I bought a used 2024 R1T adventure with the large pack battery. In looking up the VIN, all references refer to the truck as having a Max Pack. Even the battery digit in the VIN is a "C" indicating Max Pack. I understand that the 2025 VIN convention no longer includes specificity for pack size but it seems odd to me and this is in fact a 2024.

Not a huge deal but I live in a state with an excise tax and they tried to charge me for the higher MSRP of the Max Pack, luckily they accepted the window sticker in lieu of this and saved me a couple hundred dollars. My 100% SOC range is approx 151 miles.

Has anyone run into this before? Can't find anything anywhere.

Is yours possibly a Large+ battery? That is a software locked max pack. I don’t know what the VINs would look like for those versions, but it was the first possibility that crossed my mind when I read your post.

Unknown, that seems likely though locking a vin to a software locked Max would still pose problems for valuing by VIN and those who pay excise.

In Canada have a 24 R1S PDM which also has the C in the VIN however I asked to buy a Large Pack and lo and behold that is what the vehicle details says it is. Hoping I do have the extra kW.

What color are the brake calipers? If yellow, they made and delivered no quad-max builds. If silver/gray, possibly a dual with software locked max. Explanation? Supply constraints, but have to keep selling cars. If max is what they had in inventory, but short on takers, while there is a line of buyers waiting for large… better to take that $ now and keep things moving.

And the VIN matches the VIN on the window sticker? Should say Large+
