Yes, but that cuts both ways. Most people don’t actually need more security, and for those that do, real security is worth the added hassle. If it’s not worth the hassle to you, a PIN is probably also just a waste of your time.
Agreed. Extra security is inherently a hassle. For those who don’t need it, it’s optional but always available.

I think us non connect+ subscribers need to start our own thread every update. Still nothing here but rivianroamer seems to indicate it hits us on day 6.
This is the first time that I’ve ever gotten an update quickly. Even with Connect+, it‘s usually taken a couple days of seeing other people install it before I can.

Got the new update last week. Thursday I think. Had it a few days now.

Initial thoughts are that it's more sizzle than steak for me. MFA and charging speed increases don't help much. MFA just isn't for me, and my Gen 1 Large pack already charged acceptably fast. I think the Gen 1 Max Pack guys are seeing some improvements there though, so that's good.

Install was smooth, but it completely borked the interface. Pinching to zoom, and panning on the map would cause the map to stutter the image and audio to stop playing/skip like an old walkman. Also wouldn't swap between screens smoothly. We were out house hunting so we stopped for a drink and let the truck do a hard reset. All is better now on that front. HOWEVER, that made PAAK stop working (imagine that right), so I had to do the "re-login and repair a phone" dance again. Took like 5min to get it done and it appears to be working again. Still not convinced the OTA updates are worth all this hoop jumping. Everything seems to be working again, but it took some tinkering with to get it back.

The biggest change I've noted is that the GPS NAV zoom level has changed within 0.5 mi of a turn. It's now zoomed in closer/tighter than it was before, which has already lead to several "Oh shit there's my turn" moments. Not sure why that changed, but it's clearly different. Nav icon (the little blue arrow thing) is no longer in the bottom of the screen in "3D" view. It's now centered in the screen. Which is dumb, because everything under the icon is now useless information of where I have been, and I don't have enough info to see the turn coming. Weird change, and it's not anywhere in the release notes.

Also, the "go chime" seems to have changed. It's gone off about 4-5 times now. Usually in parking lots or drive thru's. Hasn't really been a realy value add to have it at this point, but that may change as it works more accurately. At least it's identifying things pulling away in front of me now.

I don’t care about the multi factor authentication drive and I will never use it and frankly the energy app is cool but the likelihood of me ever checking it is very slim. That’s said, The new software seems to be significantly more stable than the last update and in particular, my ride quality, including my suspension is massively improved. Because of those two things this update is a Win for me but not because of their new features.

Yes. I have been on Connect+ for as long as it’s been a thing. Just luck of the draw, I guess. Or are people starting to drop off of it now? I forget when the initial free membership ends/ed.

Gotcha. I was wondering if you stopped Connect+ and got the update earlier than usual. I think Connect+ is worth it, so I've continued paying.

Haha, same here... Waiting....
If you haven't already, you should sign up for the RivianRoamer dashboard. It looks like you're part of the 3% of Connect+ subscribers who've not received the update.

In the last update, RivianRoamer literally stated "Deployment Complete" before I received my update.

So, I got this update last week and have had no issues... and then I just got a push alert from my Gen1 R1T (Quad, Max Pack) that is asking me to install it again. This happen to anyone else? I figured if there was a bug fix it would at least be called 2025.18.02 or something -- but nope, it's still 2025.18.01.

This happen for anyone else?
