Am I the only one that thinks this is dumb? its just using the onboard power. It would make more sense then to plug this into an ice Ford with onboard power but its still 20 miles in an hour. I wonder how bad it kills the recovery truck running full converted 240AC power then having to be converted back to charge the battery. just seems like there should have been a better way going DC to DC.

Actually, it is just an edge case. If someone runs out of juice a little short of a charger, you can give them enough electricity to get there.

Probably losing 20% or more of the energy used from the lightning battery in the transfer. DC to DC could be done significantly more efficiently.

This vehicle will definitely need it, Especially when your miles to empty is less the 250 miles on a charge, this replaced the rear hand warmer ( defroster ) on the old fix or repair daily … lol I drive an ice F150 I can laugh about it still ?

I get that it would be useful I hope Rivian does it as well but not this way it should be a DC to DC battery Boost.
