Maybe a topic most people won't care, but something I noticed affecting my rear seat comfort a bit in the R1T.

On a recent trip to the Venice Hub when I jumped in the back seats of both the R1T and R1S I noticed that the armrest height was pretty different. Couldn't put a finger on it at the time. But, it hit me later that the R1T has its armrest opening starts lower towards the seat cushion to maximize the opening to the gear tunnel, this places the armrest in a less natural position and I think less usable/comfortable for taller riders. The R1S has a pretty standard arm rest height and is comfortable for likely most riders. On the other hand, something you can see in the pictures, the R1T has a longer armrest that incorporates a small storage area, something the R1S is lacking.

I was able to pull off some screenshots from a Raiti's Rides review of the R1T and a Edmunds review of the R1S to demonstrate the comparison.

I think the R1S reclines which is why the armrest seems higher. Went to the Rivian Venice hub a couple of days ago and noticed this.

Very interesting. You can see they are different armrests by the silver trim as well. One goes all the way back and one doesn’t. Disappointed the R1S doesn’t have the in armrest storage, but glad it’s higher as you pointed out. I appreciated a usable arm rest that supports the inside arm.

Yea totally agree the usability of the higher armrest is more useful than the small internal storage being sacrificed. No fault to rivians design team, it’s obvious there was a function over form decision for the R1T armrest, which makes total sense for access to the gear tunnel.
