Hm, that's interesting. It almost looks like a little handle where you stick two fingers in and pull up to release the seats to remove?

I finally got to sit in an R1S today at the Venice hub. I asked one of the employees about those plastic pieces. They are simply covers for the nuts which attach the second row seat tracks.
