I love so much about the new update. Feels like a new car. Digital key? Amazing. Universal Hands Free? Impressive. The new full-screen map view? Love it!

But one minor UI issue I've always had that's now even worse--I always want ONE map view up, but there's no way to easily accomplish that. With the new update, the maps now kind of dynamically jump from screen to screen. If I have the beautiful full-screen driver display map up, it switches to "autonomy" view frequently and the map disappears. If I have my usual left-carousel minimap, it automatically changes to Audio when the full-screen map takes over. And I don't always keep up the center display map because now I'm staring at two identical maps on the driver and center screens.

There's got to be a better way--I kind of wish there was a "keep one map onscreen" setting that will juggle the various views so that there is always a map onscreen.

Just received the update today and was focused on the digital key. Surely you can have the maps on the driver's display and not on the center screen and vice versa?

Yes, but setting any ADAS mode reverts the driver's screen to Autonomy View.

Haven’t received it yet. Heard there were some color changes, is the green for battery level now aligned with the other green?

I tried it yesterday and the center map prevailed over autonomy view, even when D+ was enabled. I keep the center display as a view of the overall route and the cluster is turn by turn.

I don’t think that’s how it behaves in gen2, but I wouldn’t know. Gen1 stays map

Interesting the G1 notes state the driver display map will change to the driver assistance view when highway or park assist is “enabled”.

I hope they never fix that bug, then. I never had any need for the autonomy view.

Since the map is no longer a card you can select in the left pane, the center display is the only option, at least when you check the box to enable it in settings.

For Gen 1, using the map in the driver display prevents you from seeing the zombies, ghouls, witches, etc 😀 I mean cars and trucks before the updates. 🤣

I think they aligned the different shades of green between the regen and the battery icon in the previous (.30) update, or the one before. That bugged me too :)

You can have maps in the driver display, but it reverts automatically to autonomy mode if you have cruise control or highway assist on. So it automatically shifts away.

Yep, same with Gen2.

Since the map is no longer a card you can select in the left pane, the center display is the only option, at least when you check the box to enable it in settings.
The map in the selectable card is still there, but only if the driver display isn't showing its own full-screen map/nav view. If you change the driver display to full-screen map, the nav card option goes away and it reverts to media/audio or tire pressure or something.

That's part of what I dislike - if you use the driver screen map, it may go away on you. And if you use the map in the left carousel, it may go away on you too. Ultimately, doing normal driving stuff makes you not have a map at all, unless you keep the map on the center display (in which case you'll likely have TWO identical maps active).

Yep, the "bug" has been fixed today, after a deep sleep. It was great yesterday with the permanent center map, but today the screen switches away like everyone else's. I was able to have it switch to the navigation map when I was using D+ and switch to the streaming music display when I wasn't.

This back-and-forth is better than not having a center map at all, especially since the large cluster map is most useful when I'm not on the highway using D+, but it'd make for a more consistent experience if they just let you abolish the autonomy view completely.

I can confirm (Gen 1) that in highway assist the driver assist shows up in place of the map, on the driver screen. If just adaptive cruise is used, then the map remains on the center of the driver display.

Personally I want the dancing car display to be off in all cases. It is useless to me as the driver.
