So our first R1S adventure lasted almost a year- We picked Blanche up on April 25 of the year 2025, and ended up going through the Big D (and don't mean Dallas) with her in February of this year.
Not that we weren't in love - we were. She simply had a flair for the dramatics - multiple breakdowns, frequent rides on the back of a flatbed, and the likes.
Kicked off the buyback process through formal letter sent to Rivian on December 31st of last year, and under a Half Moon Bay Grey sky on a cold Seattle February day we did the deed and dropped her off at the service center for the last time.
And instantly felt the pangs of regret in our hearts, for she was a very special part of our lives.
We wandered astray a bit, I must confess. One of the "Juniper" persuasion ended up in our driveway, for a bit. Alas, this was not the match made in heaven I so desired.... Close, but no cigar as they say.
And so, down the road we shall venture once more, this time Forest Green, dual max performance (with a fantastic interest rate to boot)
I could've waited for the much celebrated R2 - our reservation promised satisfaction towards the end of this year. But I've never been accused of being patient.
Happy to be back in the warm embrace of vegan leather.
