AC not working (until hard reboot and then only runs 2-3 min).

Our AC stopped working today. Fan blows but compressor does not come on (and since it is normally loud it is easy to tell if it is running). If I do a hard reboot it works (and blows cold) for a few minutes and then stops (only blowing warm) and won’t come on again unless I reboot again. Anyone have similar issue?

Everything was working fine until today. We did do the software update a couple days ago. But it worked immediately after for a day or so, which seems to rule out software (maybe).

By hard reset I am referring to the hazard light + left steering button method.

I had something similar happen once...truck wasn't cooling adequately. After sleep never did it again. My Tesla did this every once in a while too but it was rare.

I think it's some sort of sensor that is giving erroneous signals. The good news is that if it is cooling the compressor should be fine.

You should call them back and request sooner. Saying you have small kids so they can see you sooner

Thanks… will see if I can have it moved up if it doesn’t come back to life tomorrow after a long sleep reset.

I had a similar, but not identical issue with my R1T at delivery.

It turns out they charged the AC for the R1S amount instead of the R1T amount. Mine would work poorly for a few days before it needed a hard reset to get it to work at all.

Maybe they filled your AC system with the coolant from my R1T while I got your R1S fill.

It was fixed in a day at a service appointment. Zero issues since the fix.

Woke car up from Sleep cycle this AM and same end result. Compressor ran for a minute and then shut off again...so I guess service is my only option left. Hopefully I have the same quick fix as BigSkies.
