Afternoon Rivian netizens,
I frequently (daily) use the driver side gear tunnel. It has developed quite a hinge squeak. If it were as simple as pointing WD40 dry lube on the hinge, this wouldnt even make for a good thread. However, the hinge cover is designed in such a way that a) you cannot see the hinge point to throw any lubricant and b) removing the rear hinge cover fasteners would almost certainly result in two lost fasteners. Does anyone have a schematic of the gear tunnel hinge so I can at least try and point so lubricant in the general direction? Most appreciated.

I was just going to post the same question, mine is squeaking more than my knees and the access to that hinge is very hidden.

I had the same problem and asked service over the phone if I could just spray lubricant somewhere but they said no and that a service appointment would take care of it. I just happened to have the 7500 mile service so added this to the work list. Not sure what they sprayed as they wouldn’t tell me specifically.
