Aftermarket crossbars

Read somewhere that aftermarket crossbars (I just installed some) can cause damage or crack the roof glass. If it’s true, I’ll pull mine off and buy the ORN but would line to know if anyone has some real info here??

Doubtful. Plenty of people have aftermarket crossbars. You can get cheap generic ones to expensive Thule ones.

Doubtful. Plenty of people have aftermarket crossbars. You can get cheap generic ones to expensive Thule ones.
It’s not doubtful. Lots of people have had cracked roof glass due to 3rd party roof rails/crossbars.

I’d suggest not using anything other than Rivian’s.

Just make sure the pads are not contacting the roof glass at all. Cut the rubber pads back if they are even close at all, the weight should all be borne on the aluminum mounting pad.
