Alexa Connected Commands vs. Basic

I am a subscriber to Connect+. I can ask Alexa to do most of things a standard Echo can do. There are some skills not present, (control Apple music.. grumble). But it will tell you all types of things you aski it. Weather, Scores, Stocks, etc. and access to random questions my kids have about everything.

I use Alexa to control Amazon music as a Podcast player (I am a Prime member, but do not subscribe to premium) since I'm using Apple Music and not Spotify at this time.
